There's stuff to cover this morning - so let's get to it!

If you fell asleep early last night, here's what you missed:

The Results from Week 11: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/521720.html
The New Topic: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/521820.html
The First Home Game post of the season (so all of you folks clamoring for it, now go out and use it!! Show me that it's something you want!): http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/522194.html
and of course, the Work Room: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/522463.html

***

You also missed something pretty important going on in a discussion. It's something that the veterans certainly know and a fair amount of newbies have been discovering: If you have something come up - like LJ not showing the proper votes and you really want to have them confirmed - come to me. You can certainly go to a random Idoler and ask them what they think. Heck, maybe they know the answer! (and often do!) But if you want someone who can actually go in and check your votes vs what you think is in there, I'm the guy for it.

Anyone who knows me, knows not only to come to me with that - but anything else you might be struggling with. I've seen a fair amount of emails this season that have started out with the implication that the person is somehow going to annoy me. As long as you're not emailing me to take your side in some sort of dispute against a fellow Idoler, it's probably not going to annoy me. Then again, if you think it's gotten out of hand, and want to make sure that I'm keeping an eye on it, that's definitely something that I can do. (When I do get involved with those kinds of things, it's usually in a way that points out both sides strengths and weaknesses, with utterly pisses off at least one of the parties who becomes convinced that I sided against them! ;) )

Which is neither here nor there, but occurs to me is a standing criticism in some circles, so I figured that I would mention it. Hopefully, things are going smoothly at the moment and you won't need that sort of advice/assistance.

Some responses take longer than others - but if you are a current contestant, someone who took the time to get involved, and you need something, let me know. That's kind of why I'm here. Granted, I can't guarantee you'll be happy with whatever my answer is, because I can't guarantee what your question or comment will be! :D But if you need me, I'm at clauderainsrm@gmail.com
Well. I'm not physically there. Unless I've been digitized. In which case I probably have bigger issues than answering emails!

If you were fell asleep early, you probably also missed the ice cream and cake that everyone was given. I'm afraid there's none left. You should know by now that all the fun things happen after you go to sleep!

Good morning all. A rainy day here. I go to meet my tutor for my stats class and them to work for a half a day. Should be an easy day. Who ever thought of rain in New England in January?

Damn it. Everything good happened after I went to sleep when I was a kid, and now you tell me that's STILL going on? How rude!!

I have NO idea where I'm going to go with this week's topic, but it'll probably be last minute, as usual.

Work today - must go wake the girl child.

But you were first!

Oh, wait. I'm supposed to throw confetti on you or something, right?

How about this instead? *places tiara (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=duiKAT-33Ss&feature=share) on your head*

I think I can be forgiven for going to sleep too early to see the results; I was up until 2 and that was still only an hour after the polls closed!

We had our first snow of the winter yesterday! And I think also our last.

Afternoon all!

Fell asleep "early" ... honestly, Gary. The results went up at five to three in the morning!

Speaking of which I'd like to thank [livejournal.com profile] sonophax for the immunity - it made me smile when I woke up this morning. I promise to bounce it on as wisely as possible :)

As for this week's topic, I have NO IDEA. But then I never do this early in the writing period. I'm sure something will occur to me over the weekend.

Thats okay, I spent yesterday hiding under my bed.
Unfortunatly it did not work and I went and turn 39 anyway.
Fortunatly I did survive yet another birthday - and this time with out any bad news like last year.

I missed ice cream and cake!?!?! Grrr....

*ahem* Good morning, GR. Am I the only one who read the "here's what you missed" portion of Gary's post and heard it in the same voice "....and that's what you missed last week on Glee"?

Yeah, probably.

Tiaras are much cooler than confetti. And less messy.

Gary, you are wrong. Pointing out the strengths of two opposing forces annoys BOTH of them :oP

I'm taking the children to a nature reserve up the road after I've finished eating. We've started seeing so many birds that are supposedly common but I've never seen in my life that I can't wait to see what we find this afternoon. We've been getting nuthatches in our garden. Nuthatches!

Happy belated birthday!

Nice to know I'm not the only one freaked out by turning 39 (May 27. Prepare for the Chardonnay-fueled neurotic posts). Bithdays have never really bothered me before, but this one is freaking me out a bit.

Heh heh, this is the time when it's good to be on an opposite timezone - the polls finish in my mid-morning... perfect timing for cake and icecream!

It's hot, hot, hot here. Yesterday we had a public holiday for Australia Day, and our Prime Minister AND the leader of the Opposition had to be rescued by the police from a hoarde of mutant flesh-eating zombies angry protesters. It was quite surprising.

Also, we had a fantastic thunderstorm, and it rained. Which was a welcome relief from the blistering heat, for a while, and then it just got hot and humid.

Did I mention it's hot?

The work room is working its mojo; I've had some good advice and am now working on a story. Yay, work room!

I am always waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Last year I learned that the best friend I ever had died on the 8th on my birthday.
Our comunication was via internet mainly skype and when I had not seen him on line for a few weeks went to his FB page to see what was going on.

good thing I'm not much of a cake person, then.

I have a few ideas for this week, which are actually talking about happy things for once (shocking, I know) but still non-fiction

I put on a fleece shirt and valour pants. I'm grabbing my rain jacket instead of my winter one, hopefully that'll be warm enough. Some of it is freezing on the sidewalks so I got my best treaded shoes on for that reason.
