I have to have a ten thousand word short story in the science fiction genre written and posted by the twenty-eighth. Of which I have maybe five hundred words so far.

Yeah, time to lose shit is now. I'm going to be spending today and tomorrow chugging coffee, cramming sugar in my face, and possibly having a breakdown.

Still waiting on the baby, and all indications are that it's going to be human-esque, I'm afraid. Although if I go into labour, do I still have to submit my entry?

Speaking of entries, this one is SO last minute. It's after midnight here and I'm still writing. The good: I think I've missed my sleep cycle, so I'm fairly awake. The bad: missing a sleep cycle doesn't mean you shouldn't be asleep. Thus I've become rather silly and my writing might reflect that.

If you ask Gary nicely, he might give you a bye for the one week of having the baby. The first time I gave birth during an Idol season, I was allowed to have that week off. Second time around, I had to be two weeks late to be allowed time out of Idol (on the basis that the season was about to finish).

No sekrits here that I know of. Then again, if it were sekrit, I might not know it...but I had a sekrit surprise at Disneyland at Monday and I think that's the only sekrit this week, which is fine because it was a dang good surprise :)

I'm going through some very strange anxiety attacks like I've never experienced before. Nothing is stressing me out, my life is good...but for the last few days, I've felt panicy for no good reason. I couldn't sleep last night and woke up early this morning freaking ou. I'm not sure what to do about it.

My entry is written, feedback received and I'm not sure I can focus on it with the panic attack going on :( we shall see if it gets posted. I have another bye, I just hate using it with an entry almost done. But I don't post things I'm not proud of in some way. If it doesn't feel complete to me, it'll add more anxiety and I'm not sure I can handle much more of that. So we shall see.

Well, considering I'm not quite 37 weeks and I tend to go right to term, I figure there are still a few opportunities for me to be eliminated before the baby arrives!! But if I'm still in the game, I'll certainly have a chat to him :) Really, I was just half-looking for an excuse because I'm still not finished my entry. Probably not the best reason to have the baby early!

We heard rumors of an alien-like invasion, but sadly, nothing ever arrived. My husband was very sad and is pouting. Just in time to load 'im up and haul him out to gratefuladdict's place for the afternoon!

And it would be cute if there were a secret wedding there today, so I will dress appropriately for a casual affair. (This means putting on clean jeans.) I am prepared for a lack of surprise wedding, too, of course, and will arrive with Catchphrase in hand.

Well my son is competing (Again) in the cub scout derby.

My husband (again) had no time to help him with his little derby car. Which makes me sad because all the father/sons bond over this.

One year he bought him one off ebay (which I think it illegal according to derby rules)

One year he didn't get to participate due to his grandma's 70th birthday party.

And one year another dad took pity on him and make him a car.

So this year I took my invisible do-not-exist carpentry skills and made one with him. Another dad gave us a nice kit which I really thank him for.

It's not a great car but I did do my best. It won a few practice runs and, while I would like him to win the thing, I hope he at least places. Because if he doesn't, I PERSONALLY feel responsible this year.

It would mean so much to him to even just get 10th place. Anything to get on the list.

There's a kid who makes fun of him every year because this kid places and my kid never does and frankly I'd love to beat that kid.

I know that sounds mean. But this kid is always trying to get my son in trouble and tried to beat up my daughter when she was 5 so I REALLY just want to say (mentally) "Nana nananana!" What kind of older boy tries to beat up a much younger girl? He's...strange.

But, probably my son won't win anything and I will spend tonight sad that I have "failed" him yet again.

Most of the dads in the group are engineers so we only have a slim change but man, I would really, really like my son to place. I spent hours on that little car with him!

But you know what? He appreciates the time you took out for him. It was bonding time between you two and nothing can beat that. You can't let it get to you because you did your best.

I spent all yesterday at Hogsmeade in honor of the topic. I even bought a wand so that I could come home and bust out an entry at the last moment. It worked!

Congrats on the wedding. I hope everyone in the wedding party wore these shirts. They kind of make my life, since they're the only Spanish I really know, on account of having lived in Orlando for 9 years now, and worked at Disney for three of those.

Good luck for your son's race! I hope he beats the other kid too (and even though I don't advocate violence towards children either, that other kid certainly sounds like he needs to be 'accidentally' tripped up or something).
