It seems Christmas party season starts today. I feel like I now have to schedule time to actually work.

But... I did get to go to the diplomatic liquor store today! Cheap cheap cheap!

I just read tamaraland's entry and it was absolutely hilarious. In half an hour, I'm going to watch Caprica. Tomorrow, I'm flying back to Australia to spend Christmas with the extended family. My life is so full!

But at least I have my entry submitted. I couldn't believe I wrote a whole short film screenplay, waited overnight for feedback from a friend, and still managed to make the first page on the topic post.

We have a Snow Day so I finally get to make a green room appearance.

My day started off with actually waking up on time (thanks to sleeping straight through the night). I followed up that win with having toast with homemade apple butter that my sister brought over the other day. Oh, and the great knowledge that my dad's CAT scan for his chest was clear. Which means that what the doctor thought was asbestos scarring was actually just the infection from the flu he had when he had the last CAT scan. So we're all super happy here.

But then I got to rip out most of yesterday's work, realized I was winding the yarn in the wrong direction. So I had to rewind it all in the correct direction so I can start over today. This "simple" project that I thought I'd have done by tomorrow so I can take next week off to do holiday crochet and the week after to do end of year paperwork and organizing, is turning out to be the project from hell. Here's hoping I can make up time today.

I have to say that sequence on Colbert was pretty funny. And Stephen is a stand up dude in his own right.

No TSA for us this year. We are driving to Atlanta long but we can set the pace for ourselves.

Caroline is doing better. She was dehydrated quite a bit but seems to have bounced back from that.

At work right now. After work, I'm going to meet a friend to help him with Calculus projects. I've already explained that I haven't taken calc in several years and don't remember it all. But, he still wanted me to help. So...

Almost finished Christmas shopping! I am normally a wait until two days before Christmas kind of girl, so this is early for me!

I have one gift left to get (waiting for money transferred from PayPal to hit my bank and then I can order it) and then I'm done with my shopping. I have one gift left to finish making (a shawl for my sister), but it goes super fast so I'm not worried about that.

And I'm usually the "stay up late Christmas Eve crocheting to finish gifts" kind of girl, so I'm all impressed with myself. Now I just need everything to arrive on time. :)

Mmm, pancakes! I much prefer pancakes to TSA - fortunately I'm staying home to make some this holiday and not flying anywhere. Cozy homebody, that's me!

There are only two of us in the office today so far, due to freezing rain coming down on top of last night's snow. It's really going to be nasty out today, so we all have a great excuse to stay bundled in our houses and then it warms up and melts everything tomorrow.

I'm planning to get some work done that can't wait, and then go home and read entries and possibly write one if I can come up with an idea.

TSA screeners are tomorrow, for me. Not looking forward to that. It will be interesting, though, to see which is managing the new measures faster: Houston Hobby (which is fairly small and only just got the new scanners) or Atlanta, the busiest airport ever. I suspect I'll have headaches in both places.

Today life involves a meeting I'm nervous about, lots of packing and cleaning, working on my new netbook, and trying to figure out what on earth to write for this week's topic. It's a busy day.

I didn't run into a hairy or scary bear today - the hubby (Knight, aka Teddy) was still at work when I left home, so I likely won't run into him until tonight. Not that he's particularly hairy or scary! :)

Still haven't written this week's entry... pondering has commenced, pandering will likely follow once the polls are up. Hopefully an idea will peek around the corner of my brain soon, so I can bop it on the head and take it home!

I've also been laughing all day about a report that landed in my email this morning about reducing roundworm larvae in raccoon latrines. I didn't know raccoons used latrines. I also didn't know that anyone had enough imagination to think I would be interested in them.

Today my life doesn't involve pancakes as I do not like them (I know, I know; how do I not like pancakes? Blah blah) nor TSA scanners as I am not going anywhere. It will, however, involve more cleaning and possibly hunting around for Christmas decorations because I have no idea where they are :\ At least I have one of those plastic, already-decorated trees with the lights attached... whatever they're called, otherwise my tree would look pretty pathetic.

I am spending today indoors to ensure I stay healthy. Been running around way too much and my body is run down. The cats are loving it that I am at home though. The dogs are happy too.

Yes, I said dogs for those who know me. My best friends dog is staying with us while she is in the hospital. So Tennyson's best buddy is over with us. They are having a grand time.

Hummm, wonder if it is raining again outside? Maybe I will go check and take the dogs out again.

Slow commenter-day today, we should be on Page 2 this late. My life involves having a major work project complete (the "Letters to Santa" supplement to the paper), finishing the little tub of pimento cheese (it's great on toast) and shoveling the latest 2 to 4 inch snowfall to hit central Indiana.
