Actually, because I've been up since 4:15 on three or four hours of sleep, it just occurred to me to wonder. Does the sudden death topic stand in place of the regular topic, or do you have to write two entries if you're challenged? Also, if someone challenges you, do you have to take them up or is " I don'wanna" an option?

It's in place of the regular topic. So you only have to write one entry. You have to take the challenge, unless you have a nullifier and can nullify the challenge.
