I had a strange weekend of cooking mishaps and other shenanigans.

I had a pretty boring weekend, to be honest, which is probably how I managed to write home game entries on all three topics :O Actually I caught up on a heap of things I've been meaning to read too, and played lots of Final Fantasy XIII, so I guess it wasn't completely boring/wasted.

But my husband gets home tonight! And tomorrow he is taking a TOIL day, so we will be celebrating father's day then by going to see Toy Story 3. I am very much looking forward to this.

Heh. I wish I had done something a little less special. I'm fine now but I nearly wound up in the ER. When they say drink plenty of fluids and take breaks if doing something strenuous outside, it's probably advice worth following. Something I think I will remember for next time.

Good morning GR!

Well, I'm on vacation again. I know -- why am I complaining? I've said it before and I'll say it again: I've never had this much time off in my entire working life.

Anyway, I've got a few set plans for the week but otherwise I'm free and clear. I just wish I had the money to go somewhere :(

I finished and posted my entry! This was the first time my parents actually got to see me do my inking and they were kind of excited about that!

I had a wonderful weekend in Connecticut, gardening and making ice cream and going to nurseries. And we had lots of delicious food. I bought my father a tabletop air-popper for popcorn so he can make himself popcorn at work.

I had a good weekend, I suppose. Watched some sunsets, hung out with friends, read on the beach, and went to the gym.

Have read a couple of this week's entries. Good times.

Have not written a Home Game entry, because I'm a bum.

Found coconut milk based coffee creamer and am happy about that. Yum.

I got to spend the weekend catching up with douchejuice, which is always special! Also got to see another old college friend, which was a treat. We spent Sunday afternoon wandering through the Berkeley farmer's market, eating street food, people watching, and playing weird board games.

Now I just wish I had a weekend to recover from my weekend! *yawns*

Didn't do he'll of a lot - Carrie's bio family's 400 miles away, she sent out nice Father's day cards to her bio dad & step-dad. She as able to talk to both of them on the phone for A while.

Didn't do much during th course of the weekend - original plans for Saturday night got re-scheduled to lunch & margarita day (yesterday) with an old friend that Carrie just reconnected with. The margaritas were pretty weak - which was fine since Carrie was driving (she didn't finish hers). The lunch was good... Filling.

Next weekend's Gay Pride in San Francisco so it'll be uber busy for us. We'll be fairly cranky a week from today from all the fun

We had my dad over for fajitas and general shenanigans with our dog. He is head over heels for our yellow lab, Taffy. I think he was more keen on spending time with the dog than with us!

Other than that... a lot of busy-ness! We went to a Lebanese/Mediterranean food tasting on Saturday and had friends over for dinner and Wii-playing last night. I have found this weird fascination with ~natural~ baking (i.e. using better, more natural ingredients than other stuff), and I have to admit, the food is delicious! I made banana bread and then strawberry-chocolate cookies with excellent results. It almost makes me want to take up cooking.

I have a weird fascination with using natural ingredients with anything I cook. Baking with it is especially yummy. There really is no comparison to natural foods in my opinion. It's much better for you too. I really try to avoid processed stuff as much as possible, and have noticed a difference in the way I feel overall.

I really wish I had an interesting story of how I spent my weekend....but I really don't. I need a life. I had friends over Saturday and we went swimming and BBQ'ed.

Today, I am trying to get my life in order. Some drama on our landlords end and with James makes me think that perhaps staying here, even if he moves, isn't such a good idea. But for now, I need a crash course on taking care of a giant in ground pool. If I learned anything during my short stint taking chemistry classes is that me and chemicals should never mix. Especially those that can explode. Yikes.

I applied to a billion jobs this weekend. Keep your fingers crossed for some interviews for me please. I need it so badly!

I had an up and down Father's Day. Seeing my family was good. Arranging to see the boys' father was... less so. :( It was a hard day.

Work is very slow today, and I need someone to kick me in the butt and motivate me to get productive.

Friday: visited synagogue
Saturday: took husband to Corona del Mar Beach while he swam for a mile or two; I walked.
Went sailing on the Spirit of Dana Point tallship and hoisted lines and sails and such. Also attended a leadership class.
Sunday: Another sail with kids and plastic pirate paraphernalia, attempted to watch Brasil game
Result: tired but happy

Weekend was good but quiet for the most part.

Friday night went and saw Jonah Hex

Saturday returned to belly dance class with my old instructor and it is so nice having her back as a teacher. I love my other instructor but I prefer the old instructor's teaching style.

Rest of it was pretty low key

I didn't get a chance to hang out with my father as per the usual communication with the family got mixed up and by the time they called it was to late for me to get out to where they were.

I miss bellydancing classes. I was in one right before Idol. I sucked, but it certainly was fun and good exercise. I still have my belt and loved jingling around in it so much! The scarf work was a lot of fun too!

Greetings from St John's, USVI. We are at the dock preparing to board the ferry back to St Thomas. While here, we took photos from several scenic overlooks, had lunch at Skinny Legs Bar & Grill, visited the ruins of Annaberg sugar mill, saw wild deer, goats, donkeys, and roosters, and had fun reminding Minikin's dad to "keep left, Lee!"

At least we had good, clear weather today, since yesterday it rained most of the day with only brief breaks.

I took the Mothership out for dinner at Sweet Tomatoes. Afterall, without mothers there wouldn't be fathers, so why not. We also went to see my dad's memorial tree at the park next door. Did more house packing too. I even caught some morning rays at the pool in this complex.

Today's plan is more of the same with packing. Maybe pick up another Red Box movie. Saw The Lovely Bones last night.

Big weekend for us with my daughter's birthday party on Saturday and then her actual birthday yesterday (which makes it today Idol time, meaning that Gary is being very remiss with birthdays! I never get one during the season so I think the very least he could do is wish my daughter a happy birthday :oP ). Thank the Gods we don't have Father's Day yet because that would have been one thing to organise far too many. I deliberately kept everything low key, but my daughter had an absolute blast all weekend and she still has Toy Story 3 with me to look forward to on Thursday night. She's looking so grown up now and she was so excited about everything, one of the people at the swimming pool yesterday told me to make sure she lays off the coffee in future :oP Jeepers - my daughter on coffee would be like a hummingbird on crack!

Of course, now I'm exhausted and waiting for the final three entries and poll to go up. I loved the prompts this week but struggled to actually write anything on them. When I've had the baby, I think I should come back to the prompts and revisit them all - I'll probably have some awesome stories by then!

Now I need to go and make the children some lunch. There's very little party food left, but we do still have some crisps to share out, even if there's no hummus left (and I still get a big kick out of the fact my children love hummus. Yes, it's a strange thing to make me that happy. Sometimes I'm strange).

I totally forgot what topic I did last time. I wrote down what topic I now need to do and then thought to check and yes, I did note down the wrong one! XD At least I'll be home by this deadline, but I think my writing will be taking place on a plane.
