Results - Week 8

It just goes to show that the old adage of "go with your first instinct" is often right. Originally, I had planned on eliminating 6 contestants this week, but at last minute, changed it to 5! If there had been 6, this would be straight forward. As is, there is a tie that will have to be solved.

Before we get to that though, there is the matter of the people leaving us this week. Everyone on this list - and in the tie - is someone that I have been enjoying this season. We're kind of getting to that point where it will always be true.

When I say that I hope you guys come back for Second Chances, that is starting "really soon", I *MEAN* "really soon". So hopefully I won't have to wait to read more of your stuff.

It's appropriate it being doing this now, because *I* just was given another shot at life long happiness - and what is Idol if not "lifelong happiness"? ;)

Second Chance will run alongside the main competition, eliminating folks as we go, until a certain number of them will survive the SCI experience and (re)enter the main competition, already in progress. It's shorter, it's deadlier, and there are no byes. But it's your last, and best shot at getting back into the fray!

I guess that means it's time for a Work Room again!

Something that I've been picking up on is that who has "a good week" doesn't always seem completely consistent, but the general amounts of support seem pretty evenly distributed. Which makes me wonder how that is going to shake out in the coming weeks. Who is going to emerge with the most consistency? With Second Chance coming into play over the next few weeks - from a strategical standpoint, how it that going to factor in?

There are a lot of questions left to be answered - and plenty of time (for now) for things to play out.
