Training day for a guide dog. The dog seemed pretty comfortable - it waited for the crowds to clear the stairs before it went down, and brought her right to a seat to wait for the train. And nobody bothered them. *smile*

We had our holiday dinner yesterday, and it was a blast. And here's a data point for you: there are turkey leftovers, but not any pie leftovers!

In-laws are here, as is a friend. I get to teach my friend how to cook today. He's going through a divorce and has never cooked anything more than pasta and canned sauce, so he figures that it's time to learn. Should be fun.

Got a post going up at 10 AM EST on Insect POD (http://www.insectpod.com), which always makes me feel accomplished. I was supposed to write it out last night, but between family and friends I didn't go to bed until midnight. Got up early just to make sure it was in on time.

Good morning and happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

I was quiet yesterday because LJ emails were slow and it was frustrating me. Reading tons of comments on the web is toohard.

Anyway, imafarmgirl and I will be spending our turkey day here while Bruno goes to his mother's. (evil in laws=me staying home). I made killer mashed potatoes yesterday which will be finished in the crockpot. We will have the traditional dinner (imafarmgirl) made the stuffing last night). We have terra misu cheesecake and pumpkin pie. Anyone want some?

I'll be dragging myself away from the 'puter in a few minutes, after which I'll be cooking for five or six hours. I'll peek back in after the turkey is in the oven.

The pie of the day is pumpkin, with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream, of course.

Everyone has said the "P" word.

I will now quietly scream into a pillow.

We're going to Extended Family for dinner. As tradition dictates, I'm responsible for 1 appetizer and 1 dessert. So we're having spinach-veggie dip served in a hollowed-out round pumpernickel loaf and Dutch apple pie (the kind with crumble as a topping).

We're not eating dinner until around 4PM. Therefore, I think I will make pancakes and sausages for breakfast!
