Last week we ended up with a shocking run off between two people no one thought were in danger. That just goes to show how you never know how things are going to be received *and* the importance of word of mouth. If you see something you like, *mention it to other people*. It's how you keep good entries from falling under people's radar!

Everyone ready for the next game in the World Series? Oops!*g* Maybe not!

I should be running for the bus soon. So who will be "first"? Who will be "second"? And who, in the end, will be the next LJ Idol????

I've got commissioned artwork to finish, I'd like to do a book cover since there's support for it on the NaNo site, I've got a newly-started wiki I need to administer/setup, I've got fabric coming in the mail for a costume I want to have done for the launch of the new World of Warcraft expansion...

And I somehow, in the middle of this, seriously plan to write 10k words or more over the course of the Nov 1-2 weekend. I. Am. Mad.

Everyone seems to overwhelm themselves at NaNo time. Is it the frenzy in the air, or are we all mad year-round anyway?

I think we're all mad. I should really know better than putting things off like this after over 23 years of procrastination, but I've not learned yet. Maybe when I'm 24, I'll be wiser. ;)

Man, more and more I see myself wanting to make this rant about NaNo, and people being mad dashs or listing how busy they are...PLUS NaNo.

No offense towards you or ANYONE doing NaNo... it's just something I've noticed makes me go... hrmmm...

Well, the idea, at least in my case, is largely to convert my "bleh sitting around waiting for something to do" time into productive time. I could probably knock out 50k words in a week or less, but instead I... Bleh around.

So "mad dash" may be more "kick my ass in gear so I don't have these things breathing down my neck while I write".

Well, see... that's a lot different then what my rant is about.

The shortened version is that I've seen a lot of folks say they look forward to doing NaNoWriMo. They can't wait to do it cause ya know, something to actually do.

Then as the time comes sooner, they're talking they have to do this, and they need to do that and... OMG...I still have to do NaNo. The whole point of NaNo was you had nothing else to do, now that you have stuff to do? Why NaNo or feel pressure from it?
