therealljidol I'm not going into detail right now, but let's just say this has been one of the worst weeks of my life. (so far) Sometimes that's the way the wheel spins. I will say thought that it started Wednesday night after the poll closed, so I'm really glad I had everything written out and ready to go, otherwise none of those other posts would have been made. Far too much chaos!! Like I said, sometimes the wheel is like that.
Hope all of you are doing better than that.

Oh yeah, the first antidote has been distributed to the person with the most votes, and has been distributed to her choice. I guess we will see in a few weeks if that was correct.
IN THE MEANTIME - I need ALL OF YOU to send me an email clauderainsrm@gmail.com and make your first accusation on the identity of the Killers. (One name please) If the majority guesses correctly, you out them and end their deadly spree! If not, well, then the killings continue...
The deadline to do this is the same as the entry deadline Hopefully in the coming weeks I will be a little less stressed and more organized. I apologize for that.

Today my vacation starts. Or it starts when we fly to Baltimore this evening. So yeah...I've got some anxious butterflies over that.

Date: 2025-06-28 05:50 pm (UTC)I started adding a bit to my story yesterday evening, got excited, and before I knew it I was finished. Hopefully the express writing didn't diminish the quality too much, although hmmm, that was last week's prompt. (grin)
I'm vacationing from work for one week, and plan to do as little as I can get away with. I'm currently reading The Raven Scholar by Antonia Hodgson, and S. M. Stirling releases his next installment in the Make the Darkness Light series on July 1, so I should have reading material to last me through my sloth. (grin) And of course, I can't wait to read everyone else's entries this week, I know they'll be excellent!

Date: 2025-06-29 03:00 am (UTC)I had inspiration I really wanna do justice to for an entry tomorrow but we’re camping in a Mississippi swamp tonight, which is beautiful, but when I tried to sit at the picnic table and write with my laptop open I became the guest of honor at the Junebug and gnat fiesta and it just really wasn’t working in terms of writing in between shooing bugs. So hopefully I can steal some time between driving and mother/daughter shenanigans tomorrow, because I really want to write!
Gary, I hope Florida Florida-ing isn’t the source of too much of your woes. Because there’s never much any of us can do about that. And honestly America America-ing has been stealing a lot of the spotlight lately anyway. Jeeze what a week it has been.
What do you guys think about this killer among us? Is it foolish to speculate publicly here? How soon will bye-taking people start to drop? Is there any hope we’ll guess it without open communication to wrangle a majority vote?

Date: 2025-06-29 03:15 am (UTC)means that Pinky is actually the Genius, he just plays stupid crazy because he realizes the vast majority of Brain's schemes would not work in any way, and would be very bad for both them and the world.
And "One definition of insanity: keep doing the same thing over and over, and expecting different results..."

Date: 2025-06-29 06:38 pm (UTC)In addition to spending way too much time working on my entry, I'm trying to get the house more "presentable" for my sister's visit next weekend. Which does not mean that it looks "finished" or put-together in any way. But I've cleared more stuff out of where we've been stashing it in our daughter's room (the guest room), sent more stuff to Goodwill, and hope to slightly reduce the number of boxes still lying around. God, this is taking forever... \o?
And the yard still needs a lot of work (it'll be noticeable while we're spending time out by the pool), but it's been near 100 for days now with more to come, so THAT's not going to happen either. *cries* *sweats*

Date: 2025-06-29 07:29 pm (UTC)It's been a rough couple of days here. I'm trying to squeeze in some last minute hours on my timesheet before the end of the month. We have some great vacation plans for next year, and I'm trying to pay them off. Plus, my best friend (who is one of my bosses these days) is undergoing a lumpectomy this week, so I'm taking on a bunch of her work while she recovers while also going to take care of HER while she recovers.
The scary part of the weekend is that we had a dog attack yesterday. We were walking around the neighborhood with our dog when an unleashed one came striding at us from her lawn. We have seen this dog many times jumping at the window from inside the house, but she seemed determined to get at my sweet giant. Luckily, neither dog really latched onto each other during the melee, but my poor husband was determined to keep hold of our dog's leash and wound up crashing to the road at one point. He's a little banged up today, but he should be fine. Meanwhile, my dog is skittish about going outside at all for the moment. The attacking dog was less than half his size, but he's a giant ball of anxiety under normal circumstances, so this isn't helping.
At least I got my entry submitted for the contest and I folded all of our laundry. My husband and I will be apart for the rest of this week because we're keeping an eye on grandma while my sister is out of town. My wonderful spouse will spend this week working a few miles away while also getting grandma fed and doing her hair and putting on her compression socks. He'll make sure she takes her pills, and she adores him, even if she can't always remember his name. We brought them pizza last night, and my sons (who spend all day being snarky to me) are so gentle and kind with my grandmother that I know they're quality people.

Date: 2025-06-29 07:43 pm (UTC)Synchronized swimming is very cool! It's one of the sports I get to watch during the Olympics but then usually forget about for four years.
And I'm terribly interested in all of the twists. Of course, I always spend a good deal of time trying to figure out how these things will work and getting it all wrong. At this point, I think it's a crapshoot to figure out a killer since we can't tell who's been targeted yet, so we have nothing to guess upon.
