The town of Cohasset California and the surrounding areas need your help.  *Looks around* Well, maybe not YOUR help... but they definitely need assistance.

And no, I have not changed my name to Cohasset and incorporated myself into being a town.

Here are a series of links for how you can give and make a difference in their efforts to rebuild. They say it takes a village... in this case, it takes a global community to rebuild a village.  linktr.ee/rebuildcohasset

There were so many fantastic entries this week. Here are a few of the ones who should be getting more attention.

[personal profile] drippedonpaper's entry is about the garden of life, and the struggles a parent goes through deciding what, when, and how to cultivate their charges. One of my favorite parts was, "I must turn my face to the sun and put my hands back into the dirt. Some cycles are over. I can't cry for endings. Life is only in beginnings." Very true and very well expressed.

I'm not sure what it was about Oubaitori that sparked thoughts of twins, but there were a few entries on that topic this week. [personal profile] flipflop_diva's entry was cool because her two kids started out that way, but were actually born more than two years apart. I like how she worked that idea into her piece, speculated about what life as twins would've been like for her kids, and told us about their unique characteristics all in one entry.

[personal profile] hafnia wrote about expectations that parents place on their kids, and how sometimes statements like "you aren't doing that right," or "you'll never be a success" never go away. It's a tough topic, but handled so adeptly with humor throughout that I found myself constantly smiling. "When I graduate from college, my granddad comes out to see me walk. He's proud of me for wearing sensible shoes, and the look my mom gives him when he says it could cut glass."

[personal profile] pixiebelle wrote about becoming a teacher for little kids. Picture this, it's your first day walking into the classroom, and "One little boy named Owen started screaming as soon as he looked at me. He had to be ushered from the room and comforted, I scared him that much." That's just the beginning though. The entry is great because of all the challenges like that they overcome, but also because of all the different kiddos and their own personalities and quirks we learn about.

[personal profile] swirlsofpurple's entry is about a scientist's obsession with recreating a lost fruit. Plums, or maybe plooms ? LOL It's a wonderful entry because there's so much more however. It's composed of vignettes that not only describe the scientist's obsession, but the growing love between the scientist and their partner, the birth of their child, successes and failures in the lab, the growing strain on their relationship, and so much more.

I encourage you to read and vote for all of these excellent pieces.

Dan
