Reminder - we start tomorrow
Oct. 18th, 2020 10:56 am So anyone who still wants to get in on the action - https://therealljidol.dreamwidth.org/1069495.html
There are 14 potential spots available. It's funny, because originally I wanted about as many as we have now. But once you make that mental decision of "But how many COULD we handle..." human nature kicks in and you start looking around for them to show up! :D
It's a solid group of folx we have on hand right now though, but if you DO happen to know someone you think might be interested, now is the time to let them know!
There isn't a "Second Chance" sign up at any point and once the tribes are set, no one else will be able to enter the game.
I'm looking forward to seeing how this is going to go!

Date: 2020-10-19 09:58 pm (UTC)Your health comes first, and if you have to drop, you'd drop. I've had to! But no matter who you are and what you've written - base your choice on yourself. I'm sure you have the talent to play, in sickness or in health.
Best of luck either way, and I hope you are able to recover from whatever is harming you at the moment. <3

Date: 2020-10-19 11:46 pm (UTC)After talking to my husband, we’ve agreed it’s probably not the best time to play. I was recently diagnosed with two rare autoimmune diseases that have damaged my lungs, muscles, and possibly other organs. I moved to France permanently six months ago or so, and just got my residence card, now trying to get into the French healthcare system so I can complete my tests and start treatment. We’ve been paying out of pocket up until now, but it’s going to get expensive here very soon, especially since I’m being treated at a private, English-speaking hospital. It’s just with the bureaucracy of getting into the French healthcare system, a hundred different doctors appointments and immigration stuff (I’ll have appointments with immigration that include language testing and civics courses, possibly language classes). It’s just... a lot. Plus I’m taking intensive French classes online so I can (hopefully) pass my language tests and not take the government language classes.
I write for a living, and I’ve cut down on my word counts already due to being so busy. I know my publisher would like me to up my word count again so that should be my focus, in addition to the book series I plan to launch for myself later this year. I feel like I could handle it - maybe. But I’m not set up with a psychiatrist here yet either (another thing I need to do), so my mental health often takes a beating when I overextend myself. So it’s probably best I sit this one out.

Date: 2020-10-20 12:16 am (UTC)It sounds like you're doing what's right for you, and that's always the best choice. I'm sorry you won't be playing, but you have so much on your plate. Congrats on the move to France, by the way! I can imagine how exciting and yet also surprising that must be - so many changes, new ways of life, and so forth. It truly must be a lot!
You and your health (physical and mental) always should come first. I hope things get sorted in the way they need to, and even though I don't remember you (I feel so badly about that!), you are absolutely in my thoughts. Again, please drop me a line if you ever wish to do so. And best of luck with the treatment for your illnesses, as well as finding a psychiatrist. That's so frustrating in the U.S., let alone elsewhere in the world! I hope it all works out for you. <3
