Seriously though - is it worth waiting to have a woman on the US currency $20? If it was originally said that the change should happen to the $10 (because that was the next one set to be updated) should that proceed, regardless of the sudden popularity of Alexander Hamilton?

Should they just change both? Who should be on them?

Personally, I think all images currency should be changed to pictures of LJ Idol winners. I'm pretty sure there are some island nations that have already done this.

Good morning!

Today is Marathon Day which means that major roads in and out of the city are closed and whatever's on TV is pre-empted every hour or so for "reports from the field". I wasn't supposed to have today off from work but there you go, lol.

Speaking of which, I am burnt to a crisp. This is nothing new. But still.

Way up here on the mountain, our road closures consist of inmate crews working on shaded fuel breaks. You're not supposed to make eye contact, wave, smile, or toss them cigarettes. ;)

Heh, I know better than to try to go in there. It's also a state holiday, which means there are crowds upon crowds lining the marathon route. My extended family's restaurant was on the route, and OMG today was always just as crazy at New Year's Eve in some respects :shudder:

Nevertheless it's a gorgeous warm day today. I may be burnt to a crisp but I'm going to take The Boyz out on a nice long walk. Maybe more than one :)

Seriously: The man pathologically *HATED* the concept of paper money.

So, the solution is obvious: put a woman's face on the $10 bill (I personally would recommend Eleanor Roosevelt) and move Hamilton to the $1 coin. *THAT* would honor Hamilton in a style he would have appreciated and allow for a woman to appear on US paper currency ASAP.

I always feel like such a bad citizen because I have no interest in who is on what paper money. I find it all ugly anyway, especially compared to, like, Canada's. :P

Both my kids want Jackson off the $20 ASAP. Because of the evil.

My daughter doesn't want Hamilton replaced, because as the father of the Treasury, she thinks he deserves that spot!

I think if people had a good, easily-agreed-upon candidate for the first woman on a bill, this would probably already have happened by now. But it kind of has to be THE woman, since we have so few bills and they're most covered with presidents.

Unless we'd like to add some, like $30 and $30 and $75 as currency?
