My timing has been horrific for this entire season, and when I heard this week was juried, I pretty much resigned myself to the finish. I had secretly hoped that the readers would look at both the prompted entry and the killing floor one as that might have helped demonstrate a better balance, but that was not to be.

This was a fun exercise, both for writing challenges and for reading some brilliant entries. I'm fortunate to have added some better writers to my friendslist and to have just had the chance to have been a tiny part of the Idol phenomenon. I just wish I had known about it years ago, when my life wasn't in upheaval like it has been this year.

Thanks to Gary, to the readers who voted and my fellow competitors who both inspire and impress. This was a very fun roller coaster!
