It does bring up an interesting (to me anyway) concept though of "who has been the biggest OMG I can't believe that I haven't been reading them!" of the competition for you? Sure, some people may have been reading since Day 1, but not everyone has. That, and people can change over the course of a season (heck, I've heard veterans indicating that they were sliding by early on and saving their "A-game" until things got tight toward the end!!) - so, who is on the radar NOW that might not have been there at the start of this thing?

I think I made a "punchable face" when I read this week's topic.

I had my first ever LJ Idol dream last night! In it, Gary abruptly declared the competition over with twenty-something contestants left and just ranked them based on how they had done in that week's poll. Also he ranked people who had done an optional topic earlier in the season above those who hadn't. It was very disorienting.

I don't know how many the season started with in the dream, but there were maybe 40-something left at the beginning of the dream, and then there were 20-something eliminated in one round and the remaining 20-something were ranked.

I had an idea I wanted to write about, saw the topic title and was completely flummoxed and I've just had a lightbulb moment where I can see how I can make my idea fit the prompt so perfectly it's not funny. AND it won't be a rant entry which was where I was thinking it was going to have to go.

Really, really genuine heartfelt thanks. I shall now go and purchase some chocolate cake and get scribbling!

I am currently wondering why I spent the entire day catching up on Press Relations business for the anime convention Otakon, for which I volunteer. After all, my cat has been trying to convince me to take a nap, and given that in about an hour my husband and I are meeting my dad and his GF to go to dinner and see A Midsummer Night's Dream, Luke was probably right. I just hope I don't fall asleep during MND. And that if I do, no one punches me in the face.

You can tell summer is coming. I'm out if town again this weekend. Chicago last weekend, a weekend at the lakehouse this weekend. All with friends so good times will be had I'm sure.

I have like no Internet out here. Even my iPhone takes forever for things to load. I feel so disconnected! I had help from a friend checking the polls for me earlier and keeping me updated thankfully!

But even my texts are coming in really slow. *sigh*

This is the point at which I confess that I'm having a much harder-than-expected time transitioning from contestant to spectator. When does the next season start???? :)

Other than that, payday came yesterday and 455 dollars worth of brake work is happening as we speak. So much for those new running shoes. And, uh, groceries.

Work has been stoopid-busy and I'm running on fumes at this point. Summer break is imminent. Huzzah.

My biggest OMG!! for the whole season was probably beautyofgrey who I managed to pretty much overlook until turn 15, and who have been amazing ever since. impoetry is another one that for me have become so much better the longer the competition has been running.

I might write a Home Game entry this week. If people don't mind me mentioning stuff from when I was in high school again.

I suck as a reader, to be perfectly honest, and I've only been sucking harder since I got voted out. My biggest "can't believe I haven't been reading you all season" person was lawchicky, but I started following her when she partnered with joeymichaels for the first intersection week. Most of my favourites are people I started following in the first few weeks.

First of all, I can't believe I was honored with immunity this week. Thank you so much to the jury for giving me another week in the competition. I will try my best to give you all a great entry this week, even with a topic like "punchable face."

I'd have to admit that a good deal of the remaining contestants were not my picks for the top ten and not necessarily people I looked forward to reading each week (some of them were and some of them I hadn't really discovered yet). By this point, I've been reading all of the entries each week for awhile, so there's no one I hadn't been reading, but there are a few contestants that have stepped up unexpectedly.

One of the joys about this competition is that it's always a nail biter and there is no telling who will leave from week to week. I'm still surprised at the three we had to say goodbye to this week. Crimsonplum is not only an excellent writer, but also a peach of a woman. I was able to pair with her for an intersection week and was pleased with the opportunity to get to know her better. I've loved her work in the competition.

OK, I'm getting long winded and I have to sleep off some jet lag tonight. I'll be racking my brain for this week's entry :)

*nods* I think almost all of the names that came up regularly in early top ten predictions are gone. Many have been victims of pesky real life but there have been some shock poll upsets. I know many of us thought it was a joke when kittymichaels said he won, but looks like he was telling the truth all along.
