My essay on "Blanket" was of lesser quality than the other person's essay on "Blanket." The fact that I think that most of my other entries are of better quality than most of their other entries do not enter into the fact that when it came time to vote for the best written entry, mine was of lower quality.

You're qualifying your failure to move on in LJI by downgrading a certain entry as compared to other entries. That week, apparently, you were not popular. This is what happens.
