I have a couple announcements this morning. One of them sad, the other is the results of the "pick a player" and what they mean.

***

The first announcement is that due to "Real Life" demanding even more of her spare time than it had been...[livejournal.com profile] n_decisive has had to step down from her position as Assistant. She's done a marvelous, and IMO often underappreciated, job during her brief tenure.

I know she's sticking around these parts though and *crosses fingers* maybe playing the Home Game now and then!

***

I asked you to pick a fellow contestant and hinted that it was a representative. I didn't say if it was bad or good. (But I'll let you off the hook and say that based on who voted for who, it *seems* like it was done - for the most part - of people voting for who they liked. Granted, this now shows who is well liked in the rank and file.*g*)

The FOUR contestants with the most votes are:

[livejournal.com profile] ewok_626
[livejournal.com profile] rm
[livejournal.com profile] spydielives
[livejournal.com profile] technophile

So what did they "win"?

They need to email me at clauderainsrm@gmail.com by Tuesday October 28th at noon EDT with their *30 top choices* for people that they want to be in a tribe with. . . that's right. It's a school yard pick 'em - with the new tribes taking effect *next week*. (if more than one person selects the same person it will be determined by time stamp, or negotiation. . .)

The four people YOU their fellow contestants have selected now have the chance to reset the game by picking who they are going to compete against for the next few weeks!!! Or at least some of them.*g*

Congratulations.

I suspect this is a common demographic for LJI

Hey, and let's remember to show some love to the person still working the boards: [livejournal.com profile] kithan. I think she could use it right now. Not saying that [livejournal.com profile] n_decisive won't be missed, though.

Hope all's good, n_decisive. Hang in there, Gary & Kithan. All three of you are appreciated.

Wish we could know if we are picked or just defaulted into a tribe. Is that possible, Man Behind the Curtain?

That's right, I forgot- we're a bunch of geeky computer nerds ;) Of course we were all the kid who got picked last in gym!

There were way too many trips to the emergency room. After my gym teacher spent a month trying to teach me how to serve a volleyball (and some how managing to serve it into my own face repeatedly.), he gave up and let me do my own thing. It did get pretty funny. And we cheered a lot for each other. That made it even better.

I think it's funny that people keep complaining about being the fat kid and being picked last. I remember there were 3 particularly fat kids in my class growing up and they were always picked ahead of me. I weighed 90lbs dripping wet in high school.

The problem was I had NO muscle mass, and worse yet, I didn't grow up with sports in my house so I never knew the rules to most of the popular games that the gym teacher always expected people to just know by osmosis.

Then we add in the fact that I didn't really want to be there and spent most of my time not really paying attention... I was never a good team mate.

Then again, I never cared that I was picked last. It is not on my list of childhood traumas, it was just a fact of life. :P

Congrats guys! I'm glad that it was a positive prize because I picked one of my favorite writers! They didn't get chosen as the winner, but I have enjoyed all of one of the winner's entries and overall it's a pretty fair list.

*falls over dead* Jeez, I think I just lost one of my nine lives.

I guess I can stop thinking that my agent and editor are funning me when they say they want my stuff.

I think someone put a low self esteem pill in the water this morning, I feel uncommonly...common.

Apparently they are not proportionally represented in an online writing community.

They're probably out climbing and running and throwing things for fun.

All these years later I still have memories of gym... no wonder I related to 'Carrie' so much.

I started to leave a comment about picking teams and the reorg of the tribes, but it got long.

So, I posted it here. (http://thenodrin.livejournal.com/60350.html)
