Results - Week 10

The way this mini season has been bouncing has been a little all over the place. This week was no exception.

Of the two writers receiving strikes, we have one who received their second - proceedcyclone 

and one who, by a single vote, received their 3rd, which means they are eliminated - emo_snal

That one was a shocker for me, since he was the one who had the idea that sparked my thought process toward this mini season. He's also someone in the running for the first person to hit 200 weeks. of Idol That quest will have to wait.

I'll post the new topic in the morning. But for now, I'm glad that we will get to see one of them for a little bit longer and I know that Kris will be sticking around, if for no other reason, to cheer on his Mom!  Thank you though for everything that you have brought to the table this mini season and I can't wait to see what you do next!

Jeez, Kris, almost 200 weeks? I still haven't hit 100, and I can't remember how far away I am from hitting that.

I saw that he'd commented on his entry that he worried it would be too long for Idol audience, so I guess that fear wound up being validated. I'm sure he'll keep writing, even if he's no longer in the mini season.

It was also friends locked which probably didn't help, but i wasn't about to unlock it. In fact it had originally been my highest security rating before i decided to make it _only_ friends only and use for idol

Oh really? I guess I didn't notice because we must be LJ friends under this username too. I don't remember who I friended on LJ when I switched from comedychick to banana_galaxy since I was only using this username for Idol anyway.

But given the entry, I totally understand why you wouldn't want to make it public!

hahaha. It's okay, it's not like I've shared that in all the places, and this isn't my first time playing Idol under this username so I wasn't thinking "People need to know who I really am!" You'd have probably have figured it out with my entry this week though, given the content I wrote about.

I mostly outed myself in that comment because some of emo_snal's replies to me on his posts made me think he didn't know I was comedychick too (and we're also friends on Facebook, and he helped me with things when I wrote my pirate novel, so he should know who I am XD).

Although I did have one LJ/FB friend reach out to me during the beginning of the mini season asking me to play, and I was like, "I'm already signed up!" so when she read my first entry, she messaged me and asked if I was banana_galaxy and I was like haha yep.

It's funny because I actually found myself wondering where you had gone off to! We're friend on IG so I see your posts every now and then and I just thought you had drifted away from Idol like I did for a long time.

I still remember in either the first or second regular season I played doing an entry where I photoshopped your head onto a photo from America's Next Top Model (with your permission of course; I think we were actually doing a "team-up" challenge at the time).

Not that realizing you are someone I've known for a long time through Idol makes any difference, I was just like, "Oh, wow, so that's where she's been!"

Well if you're on Facebook, maybe we should friend each other there too because that's where I actually post most often. But I did drift from Idol for quite a while too. I think this might be the third time I used this username for Idol? Or second? I mainly remember when I used it just before the pandemic began and I was in the process of getting divorced, so I knew I had to use a username my ex-husband didn't know about if I wanted to write about the BS he was putting me through. But I think I used it another time before that because I didn't want my ex-husband to know I was playing again (when we were still married) because he was such a dick to me when he knew I spent time on things like Idol.

Why do I not remember the photoshopping incident? :O (This could easily be because I have a bunch of things I don't remember from certain parts of my life because my brain has blocked things, and they weren't all awful things that happened to me).

I was digging around for that entry, but I was actually fairly active on LiveJournal around that time, and God only knows where that could be in my archives (if I didn't delete it in a fit of "I'm leaving the internet forever"). It had to have been at least 12 years ago at this point, I'm thinking it was Season 7.

That's actually pretty wild to me! Most people that are "Idol friends" are just that - we talk during Idol but not much outside of it - but it's so cool to me that I can even say something like, "It has to have been at least 12 years ago."

Also it's not cool because it makes me feel my age, but that's another story!

I added you on Facebook (I'm surprised we weren't already friends on Facebook, but I've changed my profile a few times since the old days). I barely post on social media at all anymore but I still browse a lot. :)

I can relate to that. If I hadn't made an LJ post where I linked to all my season 6 & 7 entries, I probably wouldn't know where to find them again either (not that I've even checked that journal in years, and some of the entries are behind friends lock now).

I'm still blown away over how long it's been since we first played Idol too. I think the first Idoler I met in person was back in November 2010? I guess that was during season 7 but we became friends during season 6, and remain friends to this day. Season 6 started around October 2009 which I'm just like WTF? now. I met a lot of Idolers IRL during season 7 or just after that season.

Relieved to see that his elimination was for a "good" reason. I think Kris often tiptoes across the tightrope of almost too revealing entries. For any of you who didn't get to see it, it was personal and revealing of his close friends. It was also entertaining but perhaps more so if you knew the participants.
Maybe a little like surgery looking a lot like murder. ;)

Well, poop. For some reason, I only had Kris down one strike! Is there some way to see who is where in terms of strikes?

Probably only if you ask someone who's keeping track like roina_arwen or myself. It looks like we have 6 contestants left who have 2 strikes.
