We've been dealing with a COVID case in the household. Celena was sent home from college to recover.  She's been here for a few days and getting better, Fortunately, she's been vaccinated (and young) so it wasn't that bad.

I've been reading a LOT lately - which has been great.  I just finished what was *the* most disturbing book I've ever read... "The Girl Next Door", which, given that it's horror and I found it on a list of "the most terrifying books ever" probably shouldn't have surprised me much.  :) 

The worst part of it though is that it's based on a true story. (Basically a fictionalized narrator's POV of a real life event with the names changed)  The things that people are willing to do to each other is far more terrifying than any alien spider monster that lives in the sewer. 

We also finally started the Squid Games. 

So basically I'm feeling pretty darn good about humanity right now.  :D

I missed last week's prompt because we've been BUSY. I got my green card, we bought a car, I started my new job ... wow. I'm excited for this coming week's prompt!

She's quarantining and we're mostly quarantined by default. :D

She came here because we've had our boosters though and neither one of us have had even a sniffle so far. When we're in the same room everyone is masked and distanced (as much as you can be in the house) with the windows open during the day to increase air circulation.

I'm just glad that her college is taking it seriously even if her classmates aren't. (apparently no one could believe that she was going to get tested, it was "just a cold or something" and seemed shocked when it actually turned out to be COVID... and wanted her to come back up to hang out before she left... ah, to be young again. :D ) Then again, I know some older people who don't really take it seriously either... so *shrug*...

Yeah...Ppl don't take it seriously until something bad happens, and even then...(sigh) ...The risk is a real thing...My Hub gets his booster tomorrow. The Mothership got hers last week. Mine is next week...

Now I wonder how long the boosters will last...

Oh no, I'm sorry Celena's stuck with Covid. I hope she has a very speedy recovery.


We are also watching Squid Game. It's really popular with the 6th graders right now, and I'm just wondering if these kids are watching with their parents, or what.

I'd been wanting to watch it, but had held off. But Celena had heard about it from her friends, and wanted to see it, so we started watching a few days ago.

I was wondering why you went radio silent. Hope she is well on her way to recovery.

It's scary what people can do to other people. And what mothers can do to their children, and, and, and.... sigh.

I've been semi-busy at work, and getting ready to do holiday stuff for all 3 companies ... *YIKES!* as well as take weekend trip with my Mom to FL for her to see her sisters for the first time in 5 years -- I actually think the one sister she hasn't seen since 2014 :(. And there are just 3 of them left, out of 9. Mom will be 82 in March -- she needs to see her family.

Anywho. I guess I better get back to work for the next 5 or so minutes. Ya'll have a good day!

My mom is 91...an only child, but still...She has 1 (count 'em...1)living cousin left.

I've been busy working and getting ready for Black Friday and the holidays. The joys of owning a business ... NOT! Still, I'm glad I was able to get something written for the last prompt, and this newest one has me moving in several directions. Now to reign in the horses and find the best path.

Sorry to hear about your daughter's Covid test. I'm glad she was close enough to be able to come home to you for her recovery time. I hope everyone else remains healthy.
