“Those n- are always saying that we’re racists. But the p-m* are the REAL racists!”
(*Editor’s note: the second word is actually one of my favorite things, monkeys. But apparently they did not use it in the sense of actual monkeys that hang out in front of your house. A conversation about *that* would be awesome. )
Yes, this was a real comment from facebook on the Mr Conservative site, in response to an article about the US Justice Department looking into taking action following the George Zimmerman verdict. Which, as usual, has me feeling like the one ACLU representative in the middle of Skokie. (As I said before the trial, based on the evidence presented, I couldn’t see how he would be convicted, and pretty much hating everything that comes out of the mouths of the people happy that he was found Not Guilty and a good 50% of the things coming out of the mouths of those upset that he was found Not Guilty. Because people on the internet find ways to be idiots regardless of their point of view. )
That comment really got me thinking about perspective – and how few people seem to have it when it comes to the things they say or do. If I thought it was just a troll, trying to stir people up, I might have better ignored it. But it was very much in fitting with the other comments there, and several people “liked” it.
Have you had an experience where your comments were shown back to you at some point and you went “Oh man, yeah… *that* was dumb” or, going to the point of this – what do you do when you find the people agreeing with your general point are the sort of monsters you want to see off of your planet?

Speaking of monsters who say horrible things… well, OK, not really – but I needed a transition:
Our own
comedychick has started the fundraiser for her book. For those who don’t know/remember – this very much came out of her time in Idol, so it’s really nice to see it coming into being: http://igg.me/at/adrift/x/968017
There is also a give-away for anyone hoping to win a copy of it: http://dominica.malcolm.id.au/cover-reveal-for-adrift-crowdfunding-on-indiegogo-and-a-giveaway/
There is also a fundraiser to fund the giveaway… wait, no there isn’t! Scratch that! ;)
Seriously though, it’s nice to see Idolers following their dream. So, check it out and see if it’s your kind of thing.
