Week 26 Results and Run Off

Each week it gets more and more difficult to say goodbye to people. This week is certainly no exception. The "open topic" was apparently so difficult that we ended up with a 3-way tie for the last elimination spot! For awhile there, every time I refreshed it was looking like it was going to be a lot more contestants than that involved!!!

But before we get to that, we have the sad business of saying goodbye to some folks that I can say without reservation have been a delight to have around this season. Their presence and unique takes are definitely going to be missed in the competition itself, but hopefully not in the Home Game.

As I mentioned earlier, we also have a run off to decide who will be the last one eliminated for Week 26 and who will advance to be a part of the Top 21.

Three of my favorites gone. Just wow. This just gets weirder and weirder each week to say goodbye to people.

And no matter how the run off goes, a talented writer will be gone. All three of them are amazing and gifted. This will be tough.

The polls were intense. I kept refreshing to watch for people and I freaked out a bit myself. I had immunity and I was still just as anxious about the outcome!

Woah. Time differences meant that I had no idea when the poll was closing so was stunned to see that it had. I was even more stunned to see Bax go out before me, who is a vet that I have so much respect and admiration for. Sorry to see all three of those names go - hug_machine has done some hilarious posts and tamaraland has always done such strong entries.

That's going to be one awesome run off as well. Am I the only one that is secretly pleased because it means we get bonus entries from three truly talented writers?

All three of the folks going home are favorites of mine, and all three of the folks in the run-off are, too!

I knew Cat before the competition and she is one of the genuinely sweetest people ever. baxaphobia and tamaraland are both people I met doing this and both kickass kickass ladies.

Those are three incredibly cool ladies who are leaving us! And I'm glad to have gotten to know all three of them through the competition. It's strange to see them leaving, because they really were people I had my eye on from the start.

I'm not so surprised with the first two, given the results throughout the poll, but I can't believe tamaraland was eliminated on her open topic post! Seriously.

I think hug_machine is the last of my pre-Idol LJ friends to be voted off, but it's been an excellent run, and I think she could've lasted longer if not for her computer dying on her this week.

The other two were voted off in the first poll, since they were at the bottom of both polls. So you were voted off in the open topic poll. It was pretty close in the second poll, though, and the immunity I think made it harder to tell who was actually at the bottom of that poll.

Hi all. I had a feeling I was going to go this week. I didn't stalk the poll because of course real life got in the way. But for some reason, even not hitting F5 constantly, I knew this was the week. I admit to a bit of relief but also a lot of sadness too. But life goes on, and I have a fabulous summer planned!

Holy crap! I would not have been surprised to see all of those three in the top then, and for a while there I had baxaphobia picked as one of the likely top 5. It just goes to show that this really is a marathon.

At least I still have all the wonderful people on my F-list.

And the making fire runoff... that is just crazy. Three more of my favorites I have to pick between. *groans*

I guess by now I'll have to accept the fact that there's just favorites left.
