Anyhoo, this week has gone to shit. And by shit I mean, drug-fucked d-bag running a red light and wiping a pretty freaking awesome dude off the face of Earth kind of shit...

As I have no byes left, I'm putting out my hat and enquiring about a gift. If I don't get one then, hey, it's been a ride, you know? If I do... well, I'm thinking it'll all be roses from here on in 'cause I feel like I'd have got my fair share of Life Crap out of the way. That's how it works, right? There's a quota, and once you've reached it, it's all sunshine and unicorns for the rest of the year, right?

The landlord settlement pushed finances to the forefront and I need to figure out how to get some outstanding debts paid off if I want to get to the place where we can seriously sit down and talk about a wedding.

* I got stopped at a red light this morning. When you get stopped, as I'm sure most of you do, would you be more likely to say... A) I got caught by the light, or B) I missed the light?

I'm covering our front desk at work this morning... Bleh. I'm glad I took a bye this week; 25 entries in a row has worn me out! Where's my bucket?

I'm slowly but surely convincing my manager that I am capable of running shift. =p Other than that, work is pretty good, at least.

And when I got voted out in S8, I homegamed nearly every week afterwards -- even the "true" Hell Week, where the contestants had to write 17 entries in like... 15? days? I don't even remember. I wrote 17 entries in that time, that's all I know, all for the homegame. To prove to myself that I could do it.

This time around, I don't think that would happen again. =p I have too much to do to get 17 entries pieced together, hah.

I'm not going to make it in tonight. I've had plenty of extra chances this season, and life has just not been working with me. I'm bummed because it's the last season, but moving/starting two new different jobs/taking a seat on a board of directors/family/health crap just adds up to a mess.

3. Clocks changing has me confused. And looking it up is just more confusion. I think my head is in brain fart mode. Can someone tell me when the deadline will be in London please?

1. Things are OK. Or at least reasonable OK.

Given that I know someone who lost her granddaughter, someone I met a few times, but would have liked to know better die, and the wife of Cynthia's co-worker (who I have met socially quite a bit at company functions) go to the roof of the hospital and jump to her death - I'm really not in a place to complain about much of anything!

2. Right now all of that is up in the air. I know that I want to have a special project right after Season 9 that will last a couple weeks. Any mini-season will be after that. I also know that regardless of when it is that part of the crowd will say "it's too soon!" after the season and some will say "it's not soon enough" and there will be a cry of "You said it was the LAST SEASON!" from several corners. :)

3. According to what I just saw that's London's midnight. (our time hasn't changed *yet*). Has yours?

4. I've never said 40 weeks. I said "about a year". I'm never that exact!

1) Does my Facebook feed count? ;) Always something hilarious there. Sometimes not intentional! Heck - let's make it that, I'm a sucker for "funny". Although my humor runs dark so let's make that "dark humor", which is even more difficult to pull off well.

2) Define "recently"? In the last month? No. In the last two months? Yes.

3) It's hit a stand still. Haven't gone out in awhile. Need to get back on that.

4) I'm on the fourth book of the Proust "In Search of Lost Time", which is consuming pretty much everything right now. I would be further into it, but Cynthia started listening to the first book on audio books, hated it (the first section of the first book is notoriously rough to get through) that threw up a mental block on my enjoyment. I may have to try to get back into it this afternoon on the bus.

Anybody got time and/or desire to give me some beta on the entry I just posted? Gary just said that the poll wouldn't be up until late, and I'd love to incorporate advice or polish folks felt like recommending. I promised myself I'd do better on soliciting beta readers in this crazy comp, but it's hard to know how much longer I might be around. So I better ask for teh beta while I can, even if it's 11th hourish this week!

There are no guarantees that there will be a Gatekeeper round this season. The only guarantee that I *can* make is that people who actively pursue trying to be one are not people that I tend to ask.
