Results - Week 16

All eliminations are sad. This one strikes a personal blow to my heart. It ends one of the most dramatic runs in Idol history, coming to an end here in Week 16. Still, WEEK 16, I hope that everyone who leaves at this point is proud of what they have accomplished.

There are other people going as well, and some damn fine ones as well, but there was one that I was watching with bated breath to see what was going to happen.

Given how close the polls were anyway, a few more votes in either direction could have tipped the scales in both polls, and I think that speaks highly of the overall quality of Season 8 Idol contestants, as well as the support that they enjoy. In Tribe 2, it literally came down to a single vote. In Tribe 2, the difference with two of the three was two votes!

Oh Idol voters, you like to keep us on our toes!

Vote - Second Chance - Week 3

Welcome to the next to last week of Second Chance Idol.

The theme of the day was "Second Look" and there are certainly a collection of talented writers assembled here who deserve one. So, I hope you take the time to read, comment and vote for your favorites. Because things are about to get interesting!

Unfortunately, some people didn't make it to the starting line this week. But thank you to everyone who has taken part in Second Chance Idol! For those who didn't mention dropping, I hope you are OK!

10 contestants with the highest vote counts will have the opportunity to move forward into the meat grinder of the main competition. 7 with the lowest votes will be eliminated.
Those remaining will slog it out for the final spots.

So, make sure to show your vote for your favorite Second Chancers!

The poll closes Monday, March 5th at 8pm EST and then, we will see what we shall see!

and even I'm amused that the life long pacifist in real life (me) went with the violence this week! :)

But with the scent of Doom in the air, it seemed apt.

Congratulations to our Top 100 of Season 8. It's been a long, strange journey, with a lot of road ahead of you. But take a moment, breathe in the air and remember your fallen comrades.

Now regroup, and try to get that taste of Doom out of your mouth? You can't can you? That's why I told you to breath it in!!

I actually don't have a lot to say this week. I suspect you already know whatever it was that I would have thrown out for the sake of conversation!

It is the final week to use your bye, and given how tight things were last week, I imagine that it stands the chance of being even more insane this time!

Looking through the entries from the past couple of weeks, do you see anything that is either a "common mistake" or at least a commonality in entries that didn't quite grab you? Something that people can fix in their own work going forward?
