Chuck Berry is dead.

I was lucky enough to see him perform once. He was absolutely incredible. (Pretty sure the only reason why he was doing it was as part of his community service - since it was a free show and he didn't allow any cameras there)

It's strange, because it's literally a case of "Old guy dies". Which is kind of what happens. He lived a long life and added so much to the world of music during the time. It still ends up being a bit of a surprise. Like that thing you expected would happen - heck, I'm sure some people thought it happened years ago - and when it does you still have to take a moment, because damn, you are now living in a world without Chuck Berry, and that takes some adjustment...

Honestly, it's kind of like my grandparents (in a more detached way of course) well, I knew they would old and would die soon - but there's that part of you that just can't process living in a world where they aren't around, so it kind of goes into the back of your head and you just don't think about it, until suddenly you have to...

I'm sure every one has someone (or a situation like that).

I've started watching Iron Fist. So far it's decent, but I keep hearing the bad reviews, so that's kind of hanging over it.

Of course, a lot of the bad reviews started during the casting, and that people have been rooting for it to do poorly. So I'll see for myself if it's any good or not. If it's not, it certainly won't be because I didn't come in with a (mostly) open mind about it.

All hail Chuck Berry. How many careers were launched with his music... from Pat Boone to The Beatles to Marty McFly.

I just couldn't come up with an idea that I was happy with this week, but the deadline is only a few hours away and I'm out of byes. I did make it to the 100 Week Club recently, so I won't feel too bad if I "Bye Out" at this point... but if a fellow LJIer is willing to give up one of their Byes for me, that would be nice, too. I havent been able to read or vote this week. My father in law passed away on Friday and we had his cremation yesterday. My kids are having their year end exams and life is suddenly chaotic. I do not know how I will be able to write this week either .... so any one with excess unused byes ... I hope I won't be needing it ... but in case I do ... any one willing to give it away .. I'd be more than grateful.

I do have another query ... I started LJ Idol in Season 9 as Mistearyusdiva2. For the next season I could not recover my password and started this account. Is there anyway I can merge the two accounts .. I was going through the other account added as a friend in this one and was surprised to recollect having written all those entries .. way back.

Just wondering if its possible to have it one place instead of two different accounts.

I'm interested in hearing if there is a way to do that, but in the meantime - I had a similar situation. What you *can* do is copy your posts from whichever account has fewer, then paste them into entries that you can back date to the original dates.

If you're just dealing with one season of Idol entries, that's not so bad. If you've got a lot of history with it, it's probably not worth the work.
