Green Room - Week 27 - Day 8

Our Love Threads/Q&A comes to an end with the final 14 contestants in the alphabet. the l

But don't let that stop expressing yourself and furthering bonds with your fellow contestants. After all, that was the point of all of this.

The first two blew up like Artie Lange's Twitter feed: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/802311.html and http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/802740.html
Whereas yesterday's was, in comparison, more like the line to his booking agent: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/802866.html

There's still plenty of time to correct that though, go back and make sure to give them more love and attention.

Save some for this thread though as well, because all of the threads have an equal number (well, almost...) of fantastic writers, and people!

***

While you are involved with all of this though, make sure you remember that there is a deadline on Monday.

That's why we are here after all! http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/800348.html

It is always a delight to read your work!

Thank you! I'm a fan of yours, too - you always create such interesting characters!

I think you're a wonderful writer and I love the depth to your pieces and how much I learn from them.

Thank you very much! I love how much you contribute to this community, both as a writer and in the Green Room and your comments.

I'm sure you will get tons of love here, but I want to say how awesome it makes me feel when you take the time out of your ridiculously busy life to give me feedback, encouragement, or advice on how to move forward with my writing. You have worked so hard to get where you are and I'm so glad you're finding success.

Even though our writing styles are probably as close to opposite as possible, I've loved learning from you.

(And I like when I get to know bits of the "private" you, too.)

This makes me really really happy :) I'm loving getting to know bits of the private you, too!

I know I've told you this before, but you are a good person. :)

And also I appreciate how you've challenged me, because we look at writing and art in very different ways. But still, you are a good person and a good writer, and you've helped me learn perspective and that a difference in values doesn't have to mean a difference in humanity.

Thank you :) I love reading your work, and you always teach me something new about introspective humans! Your first Seth pieces in S8 were the first time I'd seen someone do something in that style, and I'm still sooo impressed.

i think you're an amazing writer, but at the risk of sounding weird, one of the things i really love is the little biographical line at the end of each entry - "[livejournal.com profile] whipchick spent all day in a mall with no bookstores" or "[livejournal.com profile] whipchick's first food love was bakery items with unpronounceable names" or whatever - short and creative and really cute.

[identity profile] whipchick.livejournal.com 2014-11-09 08:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you! I started doing those in S8 and I'm glad you like them, they're fun to come up with :) And thank you! I really enjoy your work - you're often so dark, and it's really engaging.

I'm prettttty sure you know that I think you're awesome, but just in case it somehow went unnoticed - it's a fact. I think you're awesome. You're a fabulous friend, a talented writer, and I'm lucky to have you in my life. <3

Thanks :) Big ol' ditto back atcha, and I'm glad we're getting to know each other more this year!

I frequently finish reading and think "how did she do that?" You breathe such life into your writing and I am always left with feelings.

I also appreciate the time you've taken to be a cheerleader and a mentor in this space; LJ Idol is better for you being in it.

Thank you :) I'm sorry I haven't had more time to be in the GR this season, so I'm glad you're still feeling some support! I'm loving watching your work grow from week to week, and still fascinated by your running life!

I love reading your entries. I admire your writing and envy your skill. Someday I want to grow up and be just like you! *wink*

Thanks for helping a newb out when she needed it. :)

And please be careful in your travels.

You know I love you AND your writing. I'm so happy for the success you've been having, and have so enjoyed being along on all of the life journeys you share with us. You lead an interesting life, and whether you're writing about it as tragedy, comedy, or simple truth, it is always fascinating and well done.

I honestly have to thank you. When I won the 50 page critique from your friend Chris, it opened up a lot of questions for myself. It pushed me to do better, to consider that maybe I had too many ideas confined to one universe; it's why Ryan is in his own world now and J&S's is separate.

So many huge changes for how I looked at my writing spawned from just that one critique, and if you hadn't helped Gary make his choice, I wouldn't be where I am as a writer today. So thank you so much. <3 Your writing, while not always my cup of tea, is always so well crafted that I envy it, and I hope to be as successful as you and Chris are, one day. :)

The precision in your writing is seriously humbling. Every sentence is pared down to exactly what it needs to be, and you seem to instinctively know just how much to leave --your writing is never skeletal, always rich, even in very little space.

When I'm trying to be spare but forceful, I try to think of what you might do.

[identity profile] penpusher.livejournal.com 2014-11-10 05:42 am (UTC)(link)
I may be a little biased, but circus folk are the salt of the earth. Of course, you're so much more than that! Your talent for composition always shines through.

I would ask, what's one experience, one journey, one element of life you haven't accomplished yet that would make you feel more fulfulled, more capable, more... you? How do you think whatever that is would help you both in your writing and in your living?

[identity profile] icaruslived.livejournal.com 2014-11-10 08:13 am (UTC)(link)
I always, always, love your pieces.

Either you've lived the most interesting life, [livejournal.com profile] whipchick, or you are the most convincing liar in the world. I'm inclined to believe the former... and yet... your verbal skill would make the latter possible.

Also, if you go to the observation deck at the Burj Khalifa, you can probably see me waving at you from Doha. If you come back this way, I have to meet up with you.

"Fairy Godmother"...:)..I am delighted to know you through Sonia..and you have been a great help always. Actually am in Awe of you and your writing and maybe will never get over it. Would be eternally grateful. Thanks for being there..<3
