But don't let that stop expressing yourself and furthering bonds with your fellow contestants. After all, that was the point of all of this.

With all of the reading I've had to do here in Idol, I'm ashamed to admit that watching_ships was a bit of a late discovery. But wow. What a discovery. I went back and binged on past entries as soon as I could.

The melancholy of the fade of old-fashioned, small-town Americana is something I witness personally every time I visit my in-laws in Nebraska; I did not, however, expect to read it so vividly as it happens. But there it is, the underlying theme of all of these pieces.
