Green Room - Week 2 - Weekend Edition

Good morning!

Did I say "good morning"? Yes. Yes. I did.

Why?

Because I just woke up.

"Oh my god, Gary is really lazy this weekend!"

Well, in fairness, I didn't get home until about 8 am due to immediately leaving from work yesterday and going to Disney's 24-hour event, which lasted until 6! Yes, while you were busy sleeping, I was busy at the Magic Kingdom! :) First world problems? No. First Kingdom problems!

***

What are you doing this weekend? Other than submitting your entries: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/654975.html
and Second Chance: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/655296.html

I hab allergies.

My nose is stopped up and my eyes are itching off and my throat is on fire and I'm wheezing.

And I have no asthma medicine because I have no insurance and the fucking Congress decided to outlaw the over the counter medication because they're owned by the pharmaceutical companies because they are saving the environment by eliminating the propellant. Because, you know, compared to car emissions and cow farts and power plants, all those asthmatic people are creating quite the threat to the ozone. Fuckers.

Oh, also, I'm still in that bad mood. I'm not sure when it stops being a mood and starts being my new default personality.

:( That really sucks but it's not surprising for our congress.

I have terrible allergies myself and never bother to get over the counter medicine. It's too expensive so I just suffer year round but this year it's been really bad.

I usually take Allegra for mine (the others don't do crap), but I haven't bothered getting more after I ran out a few weeks ago. At least that's one good thing coming out of this crappy weather we're having!

I used to try Zyrtec and the generic store brands when I didn't have money for anything else but they never did anything.

I'll have to try Allegra.

I've found Allegra to the the only one that works, at least for me. Zyrtec and Claritin don't do diddly squat. I usually get the generic form of Allegra and it works perfectly fine.

What's the generic form called?

Ugh sorry to hear that about the asthma meds. Have you tried drinking Pepsi or somesuch? Caffeine helps with asthma / wheezing.

I've had a can of coke, and I am currently having chips and salsa. :)

Seriously?!? You mean inhalers in general?!? WTF are you supposed to use, then?

:boggle:

[identity profile] kathrynrose.livejournal.com 2013-05-25 07:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, prescription inhalers are still available.

Over the counter inhalers like Primatene Mist had CFCs, and instead of putting them back out without them, they took them off the market and have made a liquid you use with a machine that you can get with a prescription.

Oh, that's a real help :rolls eyes:

Although generic prescription inhalers are not!

I hadn't had a prescription for an inhaler for years, but was having a little trouble last year. So, went to doctor, got a prescription. Went to pick it up at Target. Was told it was $40 or $50-something. Almost panicked. Asked about generic. Was told that they don't make them anymore because of the propellants and environmental concerns. Started to panic. SO asked about if that was with my insurance... crisis averted! I hadn't given them my insurance information (Never bothered before because my other meds were the $4 generics program stuff).

But yeah... crazy.

Primatin mist was not as safe medication.
It could cause heart conditions but was better then nothing.
Coffee and Tea are better for treating symptoms.
The form of caffeen found in them is a good bronchial dialator.
Go drink some and take some nice guy medicine - antihistomean.
Then if it is not too hot were you are at take a hot steamy bath.
I have many alergies to play with my asthma also. Particularly grass pollens and everyone mowed between storm fronts.
Also, with the fun of epilepsy I only use the inhaler or nebulizer if nothing else works.
