Green Room - Week 27 - Day 6

I've been noticing some new faces coming in over the last couple of days, and the return of some old friends. Thank you very much for being here.

I hope to see you around for the rest of the season, and quite a bit once Season 8 rolls around! :)

So, there's a couple things for you to do.

This, of course, for those unfamiliar with it - is the Green Room. For those who have had traumatic blackouts, you will forget this in a few minutes anyway after you take your mediciation. The Green Room is a common area for people to chat and get to know each other. It is also for the loading and unloading of all passengers coming to and from their flights.

One of the things that people always ask me, after the obvious "How is it possible for one man to be so devastatingly handsome?" is "Who do you want to win this season?" It's not just this season, it's every season. For some reason people think I'm going to answer that!

I'm not - for a very specific reason, it doesn't matter who *I* want to win. :) I have one vote. I use it to vote for everyone!

Currently, I have 14 favorites, each of them is someone that I think will bring something very different as a winner.

Of course I want a talented writer. I have 14 of those at the moment.
Do I want someone who is going to be supportive of Idol? Of course. I think all of them fit that.

Given that there is no guarantee that I'm going to use them as a Gatekeeper, you would think that aspect wasn't as important, but there is overall feeling of I want my winner to be someone that I can trust and can interact well with. Someone that other people admire and trust as well.

Someone that I will be proud to forget their actual name because I only call them "7". :)

Six seasons have managed to do a fantastic job at selecting an Idol so far. I have every faith that the seventh is going to follow suit. Will it be an unanimous choice? Of course not, if the rest of the season has been any indication, this could go down to the wire! Is it going to be who I, if I decided to exercise that power, would pick if I were just going around picking winners? Unlikely. After all - If I were to pick one, there are 13 other choices out there, so the odds would be against me! :)

Besides, Idol tends to get the winner it needs rather the one that a random selected person might want to see.

We have more veterans in the final 14 than have ever been there - does that mean a veteran will win? They never have before. Could this be their season?
We have more males - They've never won before. Could this be their season?
Heck, we have a decent amount of non-Americans... see above.

Only time, and the voters, are going to be able to sort this season out! :)

This is the first season of Idol I can remember where the "stereotypical Idol finalist" has been blown completely out of the water. It's the first season I can think of where, by and large, the "stereotypical Idol entry" has also been blown completely out of the water. I think that's great :)

It's definitely a fun pasttime, but very time intensive (and F5 intensive, too)!! Well worth the investment, tho. =)

I certainly will be here for Season 8.

The way I 'byed out' this season was quite stupid, really. I was jet-lagged after coming back from the States, and caught a cold, which wouldn't have been that bad, but then I also caught a virus on my computer which blocked everything, and to top it all, that Sunday was my mother's birthday party, so I didn't have the energy to overcome such a number of hurdles.

Which means I am just ghosting around now most of the weeks, still reading the entries yet not even commenting. (Sorry, guys :-) )

(Can't believe it's been 17 weeks ago that I quit O_o.)

So glad to be back, reading ljidol entries -- I got through maybe 5 or 6 last night, all excellent! I can honestly say that anyone could take it for this season and they would be a worthy winner, in my humble opinion! :D

I'm pushing hardcore for a friend of mine to home game it and try it next season. I'm hoping she takes me up on the Free Topic. I've only messaged her like 4 times. Think she will get the hint? I have another friend I called out when I posted the Free Topic to my journal. She's a beautiful writer and has shown interest before. Plus I've got others I'm trying to tell all about the awesome entries they should be reading. I'll put up something after work to encourage more reading, I just got finished with it myself last night. I commented on everyone's piece as I felt they all rocked. I encourage others to do the same.

Geez, I'm really going to be rushing to get to work today. I slept a bit late today and now playing in here. Silly me.

But I was glad to see some old bit familiar faces show up around here today! I hope to see it continue! And I hope more new people check out what this awesome competition has to offer :)

Another rough day here. I'm trying to get through some work and house stuffs, and one of my good friends has been sent to the hospital, probably for the last time. She's been fighting cancer for the last few years, and these seem to be her final days. As much as I knew this was coming, I'm still taking it hard. I'm going to the hospital on Thursday to see her.

In all seriousness, the polls for the last few weeks have been so nuts that I half believe that we'd have a chance of having the exact same results each week if Gary were just to throw darts at our names and remove the first three or so that he hit.

And then the Last Minute Voter Brigade would ride in and move those three darts to other names. :P

I certainly couldn't pick who might win, or even who other people would like to see win. You see every week everyone getting so much support coming from, no clue who's voting for what. I've got no guesses and everyone seems as equally talented as the next. :)
