SEASON 4 - TOPIC 1

Welcome to the OFFICIAL KICK OFF of what is looking like our best season yet of the internet's favorite LJ based journal writing elimination spectacular - that happens to be hosted by me! No other competition that meets those criteria even comes close!!!!

Before I announce the topic, remember that everyone has TWO BYES. These bye weeks can be used any time between now and the TOP 50. Yes, you heard that right. To use them, instead of posting your link in the topic threads, post "BYE WEEK" and it will be counted as you turning something in. It all comes down to strategy though, because if you use them up too soon, you will be forced to write each and every week, including holiday weeks (when I suspect most of them will be used).

Now that it's out the way, we can get to why you are actually reading this post.... the first topic!!!

One of the things I've noticed, even with friends who have had completely horrible (and horrifying) lives is that growing up there was always at least *one* really good memory. In the examples I'm thinking of, it was one of those little things that kept them going. For most of us there were bright spots and bad ones... but most people can probably look back and go "oh, yeah, that time... man..."
Heck, maybe you are currently living your second, or third childhood...

And that's the topic this week, to twist and turn however you like:

TOPIC: "MY FAVORITE 'CHILDHOOD' MEMORY"

Just remember to post a link to your entry to THIS TOPIC THREAD by the Friday November 9th at NOON EST.

(all other comments should be posted to the Green Room.)

So there you go - the first topic. Let's see what happens!!

Good luck.

Swings in by (an almost) hair...

I'm so, so sorry that this is so late. I hope it's not TOO late...

I need this to be a BYE week for me. My mother-in-law was just diagnosed with cancer, and I've been helping her prepare her home and office for her being laid up after her surgery and with the chemotherapy.
