Green Room - Week 11 - Day 5

I’m sure that if I tried, I could come up with something clever take on the “news of the day” or just mock the lot of you. But today is a little different for me, because really only one thing is on my mind.

Today is my second anniversary with my girlfriend. Since I can’t seem to wipe the smile off my face, I figured “Why bother trying?”

At the end of what turned out to be our first date, I walked her to her car and she gave me a hug. I remember that hug, and just how amazing it felt. I remember *thinking* how amazing it felt. What I didn’t find out until several weeks later, was that I had actually muttered “Oh my god” OUT LOUD!

Once I found out, her nervous laugh and “You’re so cute” made a lot more sense with the context! : )

What have *you* forgot to use your “inside the head” voice on, and accidentally let out into the universe? What was the reaction?

In other news, the GR always shows up just as I start wanting to write for the day. Do you have some sort of fucking radar, Gary? I know my kid does, lol.

Right now he's ignoring me because I'm playing around on LJ. But the second I click over onto my "Surrender the Night" tab, he'll be in my lap in seconds and I'll be forced to type one-handed.

Shortly after the poll went up last night, my cat got tired of me "doing work" and jumped up on the coffee table, and put her paw on the keyboard for a second.

In that one move, the orientation of the screen flipped to being sideways!

Mine loves to play with my tiny little portable mouse on my netbook. I understand why, but it is one of the few things he does that makes me lose patience soooo fast.

Slight more embarassing in a practical sense, she had brought over some Jamaican pies that ended up not being all that great (I liked them more than she did) that we ate when she came over to my apartment at about 3pm. We ended up talking until about 2 am - and it never occured to us to eat, or even get a drink! (Seriously, where are my manners? I should have asked if she wanted something! But I was so engrossed in the conversation!)

Happy Anniversary, Gary! I love hearing about how people met and that kind of magic that happens.

My most memorable 'should have used my inside voice' experience was when my first baby was born. I just looked him in my hands and said, 'oh my god, it's a baby!' And the midwife thought that was hilarious.

Max has this "Bubbles" app on my iPad, and he'll be all "Bubbles!" when I'm checking LJ or whatever on it. Although that does sometimes allow me to use my netbook without him grabbing the mouse. :D

Dude, Jasmine would do the same thing. Hell, there has been one time where I had Bob ASLEEP in my lap and she was all like "I'm a cat. I want to lay on your chest." Um, cat? You have to climb around the three-year old, first.

Now I wish that I had an icon of Honey, instead of the Mulgee one that I am using. I feel like I am accusing her of something she didn't do! :)

Honey tries to get as close to the computer as possible, and sometimes misjudges that. Usually when I am in the middle of something. Considering that the 'end' key popped off when she leaned on it, (that's what happens when you have a 20-pound cat leaning on a keyboard) I have to spend my time trying to get to her to hang out near me, but in a different spot!

The mouse-clicking would drive me nuts. The best is when I'm trying to write and Bob is counting the numbers on the keyboard. By pressing them. Thanks, kid.
