Today I am formally announcing that we will not be banning Chik-Fil-A from opening up a shop here.

Mostly because this is a website, and I’m not sure how they could open a storefront here anyway… but I figured that if things get tough for them, who knows – maybe they would! Then I could charge them ridiculous amounts of rent, get rich off that, and use it to fund the recruitment and training of my monkey army… because that is what you should be doing with your wealth. Not “denying people their rights”, you should be using it to completely make everyone bend to your iron-fisted will!

Until then, we will be hosting things like this poll: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/590519.html which is filled with awesome writing that you should make sure that you are reading and supporting! It closes tonight, so make sure your voice is heard about your favorites! )

If I can figure out a way to use that to fund the recruitment and training of my monkey army, believe me, I will!

It makes me sad.

I'm not sure how I feel about the banning thing though.

Meanwhile, I have read half the entries and voted in one poll. I am amazed that I have missed the awesome that is kittymichaels until now.

I've had several friends on FB get all up in arms saying us boycotting them is wrong since they're just expressing they're freedom of religion and can spend their money however they see fit. Which is true.

But I have a right to spend my money how I see fit too :)

Ohhhh geez, the Chick-Fil-A debate. That company can kiss my queer heathen ass. I boycott the shit out of them, and I completely support any other company who wants to cut ties with them, BUT...it really freaks me out to see the government or a government official attempting to block\shut down a legal business simply because of the owner's political beliefs or legal use of profits. At first I thought the governor had just sort of issued an informal STFU on city letterhead, which was more funny than alarming, but the governor actually trying to block the company spooks me on principle, even though I loathe anti-gay groups and any company that would fund them.

Oy, it's too early for a political debate! I'm on my way out the door and I haven't even had my vodka yet today. Sorry if the above made, like, no sense at all.

I think the bigger problem with fast food establishments in Boston is “Why do you need a coin to use their restroom?”

Public access to restrooms in New England in general is quite restrictive. (or at least it was in the late 90s…)

Sadly, the food is good. Used to be my favorite fast food chain. So much so that when I got married, that's what I wanted on my wedding day... But I got married on a Sunday and the jerks were closed.

But I refuse to support them now. I haven't had them often anyway, but I'm done supporting their agenda now. I'll support friendlier businesses that don't discriminate.

I have a feeling y'all might appreciate awesome (and awesomely geeky) music with proceeds going to a good cause, so I'm going to leave a link to the humble music bundle (http://www.humblebundle.com/) right here. There are albums by TMBG, Jonathan Coulton, MC Frontalot, Ok Go, and more available. Pay what you want for all the albums and you say how much goes to the artists, how much to charity (there are two different very worthy causes to choose from), and how much humble bundle for sponsoring the whole thing. It's good music to unleash a monkey army to, at the least. :)

I have to hand it to our mayor -- he successfully fought off Walmart from coming within the city limits, so I'm not surprised that he's attempting the same thing with Chickn-fil-A. There's always the possibility, though, that the owner of the building where Chickn-fil-A wants to buy may sell it to them anyway, but if the mayor puts enough pressure on the owner...who knows? But his reasoning, to me, makes a lot of sense: If we were the first state to recognize same sex marriage, letting Chickn-fil-A establish here would fly in the face of that.

Now if only my tummy would stop hurting _{@#$*@#^#@^% digestive issues}
