Welcome to Week 2!

This week was all about Deconstruction and from the entries over the past weeks I think it's pretty clear that this is an extremely talented group.
This is going to another difficult decision on choosing what entries to support.

Fortunately, you can vote for as many of them as you want!! Make sure that you leave comments as well to the entries that you loved, letting them know!

The contestant with the entry that the fewest votes from each tribe will be eliminated. Given that there is a new tribe this week, that means there will be one more person leaving us this time around.

I know, right? There's like 50 or so! It's WAY to early for folks to use a bye (or just forget to submit their entry on time, and get an automatic bye) if they have any hopes of staying in for the long haul!

Well, I know intrepia took a Week 2 bye last year and ended up 7th, so, y'know, it's possible....

I think this was a real intimidating topic! I tried to look up "deconstruction" on the internet and fell into a maze!

i know what you mean. i had a brilliant thought going on with the topic.... i just could not get it together. i feel horrible cause my tribe is the one of second chances this week and i just.... blew it. :(

I looked up "deconstruction" on Wiki and was like "Ummm... well then..." so I know what you mean.

I'm pretty sure the Wiki article is just not that good (or written only for people who know stuff about lit theory). I ended up reading the German Wiki article and it made way more sense. I don't know if that was because it was objectively better or because I had to concentrate just to read it, whereas I sort of went "waffly nonsense" at the English one. Not that I really have any idea what Deconstruction's about, still.

Maybe the second week is also just psychologically tricky. The first week, everyone is full of enthusiasm for starting this new thing, and by the second week, it starts sinking in, "Oh. I'm going to have to come up with something week after week for a long time, aren't I?"

A lot of people, myself included, are really ill this week. Half of my college is out sick, so I'm not surprised. I hate to do it myself as well so early, but better to do it now than throw something together at the last minute this morning when I was finally well enough to see straight. :P
