Vote - Week 2

A few words from [livejournal.com profile] clauderainsrm:

Welcome to Week 2!

This week was all about Deconstruction and from the entries over the past weeks I think it's pretty clear that this is an extremely talented group.
This is going to another difficult decision on choosing what entries to support.

Fortunately, you can vote for as many of them as you want!! Make sure that you leave comments as well to the entries that you loved, letting them know!

The contestant with the entry that the fewest votes from each tribe will be eliminated. Given that there is a new tribe this week, that means there will be one more person leaving us this time around.

The poll will be closing Tuesday Nov 16th at 9pm EST

Good luck to everyone!

[Poll #1644216]

[Poll #1644217]

Man, and I'm in 3, of course.

Tomorrow, I have to choose between reading Tribes 1 and 2 or writing 5500 more words for NaNo. I'm aiming to get done on Monday.

[identity profile] viagra.livejournal.com 2010-11-14 01:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow, I'd hate to be in the tribe where practically everyone took a bye. Oh, wait... shit.

[identity profile] viagra.livejournal.com 2010-11-14 01:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Oooh, deviousness. I would never have thought about bringing in top performers and then taking a bye to give them a higher chance of elimination.

Then again, it's only week two. Anyone who honestly thinks they'll be able to get rid of a fan favorite the second week is probably not thinking straight.

[identity profile] viagra.livejournal.com 2010-11-14 01:36 pm (UTC)(link)
You read my entry and that's what matters.

[identity profile] teaberryblue.livejournal.com 2010-11-14 04:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, but if they had coordinated? Suppose all of the low-vote-getters had only picked high-vote-getters, and then took byes. Then the only people left to be voted out in that tribe would be the highest vote getters from the previous week.

[identity profile] viagra.livejournal.com 2010-11-14 04:53 pm (UTC)(link)
See, this is why I prefer to just say, "Fuck it; I'll take whatever I can get." With a 1 in 200-something chance of winning the game, strategizing almost seems pointless.

Of course, if someone was creating a strategy to kick me off, I would be pretty pissed. But I guess if I wasn't as awesome as I am and didn't know that I had a good shot of landing in the top 50 on my own merits, I'd probably be a strategizer, too. ;-)

[identity profile] teaberryblue.livejournal.com 2010-11-14 05:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Curses! You're on to my "anyone but Sean" strategy!

[identity profile] viagra.livejournal.com 2010-11-14 05:03 pm (UTC)(link)
I knew it! You have always had it out for me! You were probably the one that hacked my Gmail and LJ accounts last season, too, eh? I'm surprised you didn't make a bunch of posts about what a homo I am.

Although you probably figured that would get me more votes... You sneaky, sneaky.

[identity profile] awriterswindow.livejournal.com 2010-11-14 10:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Ooh, that is hardcore. I write it down on the back of old bills and stuff I have lying around. Trying to leave the spreadsheets at work. :)

[identity profile] awriterswindow.livejournal.com 2010-11-14 10:09 pm (UTC)(link)
I've read all of the first 2 tribes entries...so great! Onto the next! I didn't finish everyone's last week, but this week I'm going to make it happen!

[identity profile] dance-of-flame.livejournal.com 2010-11-14 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
O.o I didn't vote and the ballot seems to think I have. Halp?

[identity profile] dance-of-flame.livejournal.com 2010-11-14 10:48 pm (UTC)(link)
...Actually, while I'm at it, can anyone link me to the voting spreadsheet? I've looked about a dozen times and I STILL can't find it. O.x

[identity profile] vaguelyclear.livejournal.com 2010-11-14 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Well duh.

[identity profile] snarkerdoodle.livejournal.com 2010-11-14 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
You can go to an individual poll (such as http://www.livejournal.com/poll/?id=1644216 for the first tribe) and there'll be a 'Fill out poll' link at the top of the poll -- click that and you'll get the poll "live" again, where you can change/make selections again.

You can do this anytime you want to edit a vote in a poll, as long as the poll is still 'open'.

[identity profile] snarkerdoodle.livejournal.com 2010-11-14 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Here is a link (https://docs.google.com/leaf?id=0B_Mgr07tmBgTMDE5ZjA2ZTgtM2M5NS00ZDRlLThiOWMtMDdmZjBlYjIzM2Uz&authkey=CMCJiuAH&hl=en) to an Excel spreadsheet I created at the start of the contest -- it's just a list of usernames, etc, nothing too fancy.

If you use it, be aware that there are a few usernames of late entrants missing from it -- but it's just a few, so they are easily added.

I'm sure others have created spreadsheets as well, of course, so maybe others will have other links for you to choose from as well. :)

Ah, voting. I like the voting weeks.

[identity profile] sra33.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
57 byes this week. Goodness....

And sadly I can't start reading them until tomorrow after school. I'll be sure to have my reading hat on at that time! :D

[identity profile] millysdaughter.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 01:41 pm (UTC)(link)
I am sure you have been warned about Internet viruses before now!

[identity profile] xreesex.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 03:04 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm in the new tribe too, I don't know if that's good or bad though hahah.

[identity profile] xreesex.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 04:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, my tribe is tiny, and it makes me nervous.

[identity profile] xreesex.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 04:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I really hope that using a bye now has nothing to do with staying the long haul...

[identity profile] team-jessie.livejournal.com 2010-11-16 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
Read. Commented. Recommended. Voted. Collapsing now.

:)

Great work everyone!

[identity profile] mstrobel.livejournal.com 2010-11-16 10:38 am (UTC)(link)
Read. Barely commented. Sending e-hugs?

Also, if anyone's finished reading and wants more to read, home game entry (http://mstrobel.livejournal.com/21059.html) :p

[identity profile] n-maranda-coy.livejournal.com 2010-11-16 01:42 pm (UTC)(link)
I've finally finished reading and voting. I apologize for not commenting this round; I am hoping things get less hectic after I come back from my trip.

Maybe the second week is also just psychologically tricky. The first week, everyone is full of enthusiasm for starting this new thing, and by the second week, it starts sinking in, "Oh. I'm going to have to come up with something week after week for a long time, aren't I?"
