Vote - Week 2

A few words from [livejournal.com profile] clauderainsrm:

Welcome to Week 2!

This week was all about Deconstruction and from the entries over the past weeks I think it's pretty clear that this is an extremely talented group.
This is going to another difficult decision on choosing what entries to support.

Fortunately, you can vote for as many of them as you want!! Make sure that you leave comments as well to the entries that you loved, letting them know!

The contestant with the entry that the fewest votes from each tribe will be eliminated. Given that there is a new tribe this week, that means there will be one more person leaving us this time around.

The poll will be closing Tuesday Nov 16th at 9pm EST

Good luck to everyone!

It seems that my entire tribe has my cold. That's a little bit hilarious. Perhaps it's more contagious than I suspected.... eek!

Unless my eyesight's really gotten wonky AND excluding the new tribe, I don't see much difference in this week's tribes. Take Tribe 1, for instance -- most of those contestants were in that tribe last week. I'm also reading all the tribes as still mostly alphabetical, which makes sense, given the number of people. I know there are breaks here and there, but by and large, I don't see a huge difference

I managed to read Tribe 5 tonight.
I feel bad that I'm not having the energy to make comments to people. Just feeling so drained. And maybe like I'm getting sick (can't happen. Stats midterm on Monday).

Will work my way through more tomorrow, methinks. Might be time for early bed tonight.

I'm in the new tribe and scared, too!!!

[identity profile] courtney-ke.livejournal.com 2010-11-14 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
hehe I know how you feel! Last week I was checking back all the time I was so nervous. This week, it's a little less (but still nervous haha)

omg I never knew about F5 until this post.... What have you DONE!? lol

[identity profile] dreamchaser.livejournal.com 2010-11-14 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
I'm curious as well (I also got picked to move!)

Two words: Google Docs. The spreadsheet function is amazing.

Good luck everyone!!!!

*goes off to get some reading done*

INTERESTING!

[identity profile] xo-kizzy-xo.livejournal.com 2010-11-14 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
Er, never mind. I'm going to bed zzzzzz

[identity profile] hoyland54.livejournal.com 2010-11-14 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
I'm pretty sure the Wiki article is just not that good (or written only for people who know stuff about lit theory). I ended up reading the German Wiki article and it made way more sense. I don't know if that was because it was objectively better or because I had to concentrate just to read it, whereas I sort of went "waffly nonsense" at the English one. Not that I really have any idea what Deconstruction's about, still.

[identity profile] hoyland54.livejournal.com 2010-11-14 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
I'm guessing you subscribe to the topic post? I've tended to ignore the new features that LJ introduces, but that is a really clever idea.

[identity profile] stormkitty.livejournal.com 2010-11-14 03:55 am (UTC)(link)
Yep. Started that early on last season and it really helps me stay on top of reading. The only downside this season is that I'm away from my computer (& spreadsheet) every weekend, so I'm playing catchup on Mondays.

[identity profile] rattsu.livejournal.com 2010-11-14 05:04 am (UTC)(link)
I know! *looks around*

However, the one upside is that smaller tribes means more exposure to each person in it since some people read on a tribe basis, and won't vote for anybody until everybody in the tribe is read.

So, a little tribe might get a lot of readers.

[identity profile] barrelofrain.livejournal.com 2010-11-14 05:06 am (UTC)(link)
But... but... if the eliminations continue this way (one person from the bottom of each tribe), there's so many less people to be pitted against!

Of course, I didn't actually follow last year's process, so I don't know if that changes much.

[identity profile] rattsu.livejournal.com 2010-11-14 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe they felt that people might overlook them since they weren't widely read last turn, and included their favorites so that people would have to go there and read stuff?

[identity profile] strryeyedgrrl.livejournal.com 2010-11-14 05:13 am (UTC)(link)
Cheese and crackers, man. I've been down since Monday night with a flu that hit me like a bag of bricks upside my head. A trip to the grocery store today was the first time I left the house since Tuesday evening. Only yesterday did I start to come down from the cold medicine cocktail I took three days ago. I feel like I lost a month of my effing life.

Thank heavens it's early enough in the season that byes still exist. Check y'all next week! :)

[identity profile] teaberryblue.livejournal.com 2010-11-14 05:48 am (UTC)(link)
In week 4 last season, there was one tribe that had SEVEN people. Gary was kind enough to give them all immunity. But three of the other tribes had 21, 24 and 27 people, respectively, while the other two tribes had 53 and 66 people.

[identity profile] barrelofrain.livejournal.com 2010-11-14 05:49 am (UTC)(link)
Well that makes me feel a little bit better, at least. :)

[identity profile] teaberryblue.livejournal.com 2010-11-14 05:53 am (UTC)(link)
I think the issue is that different people are going to pick differently, so there's no overarching strategy. Some people might have picked people they thought they could compete against-- other people might have picked top performers in the hopes of eliminating them early? That's what I would suspect. Several of the folks who got to choose tribe-mates also took a bye this week-- might have been strategy to try to eliminate some top performers early?

:D indeed, indeed!

No one wanted to compete against you.

For fear of the biting.
