Green Room - Week 27 - 5

This way to the polls: http://community.livejournal.com/therealljidol/344438.html
because that's where the fun is!! :)

(and all the entries!!)

*This* is the place where I mention to [livejournal.com profile] kittymichaels that my girls left me two parts of a lizard in front of my computer this morning. I thanked them although I didn't play with it. Maybe I should have. Apparently dead lizards are awesome. If cats like them, there's got to be something to them.

Fortunately it was *not* the lizard that the Dead Milkman saw in their backyard!!
That would have been awkward.

It's also the place where I say "Hey, how are YOU doing?" and you tell me, and random conversations start as a result. And then someone comes in with a bit of an attitude and insults your opinion about something and you get into a debate... then everyone puts on chicken suits and it turns into some sort of wrestling match Or does that part only happen in my head? ;)

The thing is... ANYTHING can cause deaths. EATING can cause death--but not eating is far more likely to cause death. The overwhelming evidence supports that wearing helmets saves lives. It frustrates me to no end that there are people out there who won't wear seatbelts or helmets when it makes so much difference in the event of an accident.

I am sorry for your friend having to go through this. :(

Where I grew up, it was drummed into us so hard to wear helmets when cycling that it always -stuns- me when I'm in other countries and there's never a helmet in sight!

To be honest, the way it was sounding, he probably couldn't have survived even with a helmet. His body was so badly damaged he died even on full ICU support machines. :\ But all the internal head injuries he sustained most likely didn't help at all.

I agree with this completely. I have seen way too many accidents to not wear my seat belt or a helmet. Considering I come from a group who rides motorcycles often and have seen accidents that could have killed the person if it weren't for the helmets, I just don't get it. It isn't worth the risk.
