Green Room - Week 27 - 5

This way to the polls: http://community.livejournal.com/therealljidol/344438.html
because that's where the fun is!! :)

(and all the entries!!)

*This* is the place where I mention to [livejournal.com profile] kittymichaels that my girls left me two parts of a lizard in front of my computer this morning. I thanked them although I didn't play with it. Maybe I should have. Apparently dead lizards are awesome. If cats like them, there's got to be something to them.

Fortunately it was *not* the lizard that the Dead Milkman saw in their backyard!!
That would have been awkward.

***

It's also the place where I say "Hey, how are YOU doing?" and you tell me, and random conversations start as a result. And then someone comes in with a bit of an attitude and insults your opinion about something and you get into a debate... then everyone puts on chicken suits and it turns into some sort of wrestling match Or does that part only happen in my head? ;)

[identity profile] lawchicky.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 12:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm exhausted. How about you guys?

[identity profile] lawchicky.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 10:12 pm (UTC)(link)
*snugs you and goes back to sleep*

[identity profile] roina-arwen.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 02:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I could use a Starbucks right about now... *yawn*

[identity profile] sra33.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 04:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Speaking of coffee, my favorite coffee at my favorite coffee joint costs me 570 calories. It made me sad when I found out. :(

[identity profile] roina-arwen.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 04:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow - what on earth does it have in it? Are there any "lighter" options you can have applied, like sugar free syrup or lowfat milk?

The Venti coffee frap light that I typically get from Starbucks has around 200 calories (it's 24 oz, no whipped cream). I think that's a pretty good treat without going overboard on the calories!

[identity profile] sra33.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 05:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I get a medium campfire mocha. I think a lot of the calories is because they make their mocha drinks with pure chocolate, and I get dark chocolate, which is rather fatty. I guess?

Usually even when I syrup it up with whole milk at Biggby by my house now, it's only around 280. I can't believe it's so much at Caribou.

Then my mom was reading off all the other drinks, and they're around 100-250. I just lucked out with having dark chocolate, tons of syrup, and whole milk I guess! lol

[identity profile] lawchicky.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
It may be a lot of calories, but that coffee sounds delicious to me!

[identity profile] alycewilson.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 12:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Luke here. If they are anything like me, your girls probably left you the least edible parts. A moving tribute, nonetheless.

[identity profile] java-fiend.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 06:21 pm (UTC)(link)
A moving tribute indeed. Ungrateful humans.

[identity profile] kittymichaels.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 09:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Hopefully, the pieces were still moving. That's when they taste best.

[identity profile] java-fiend.livejournal.com 2010-05-26 04:43 am (UTC)(link)
Indeed. Freshness counts, comrade!

[identity profile] rejeneration.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 12:27 pm (UTC)(link)
I feel like dead lizard is a euphemism in this analogy, Gary. -beam-

-peeks head in-

[identity profile] gratefuladdict.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 06:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!! :D

[identity profile] roina-arwen.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 12:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, of *course* you post the GR when I'm in the shower, Gary! How rude!

Our network was down all day yesterday (at work) which is very frustrating and not at ALL helpful, since the majority of my job is data entry type stuff and answering phones. Alas, the phones still work...

Heading off to work now. If you don't see me the rest of the day, it will be because the network is still down. I swear, it goes down so often I'm seriously going to rename it Deep Throat!! :-P

[identity profile] comedychick.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 01:01 pm (UTC)(link)
It was part of his evil plan so you would post about being in the shower, so people could think of you naked, thereby making the "How are YOU doing?" question more relevant ;)

[identity profile] roina-arwen.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 01:41 pm (UTC)(link)
D'oh! And I fell for it! *shameface*

On the plus side, the network is UP today, w00.

[identity profile] pixiebelle.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 03:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I love how you have an icon that always seems fitting for whatever the conversation is. Awesome :)

[identity profile] roina-arwen.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 04:12 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL - I've got about 195 icons, although I think I need one that says "Yep - I've got an icon for that!"

(Sometimes I comment on stuff JUST BECAUSE I've got an icon for it!)

[identity profile] pixiebelle.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 04:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, you do need one that says that! That would be perfect! I have 116 or something like that, but I need to find some new ones.

Oh, so that's the secret, huh? Seems fitting :-p

[identity profile] lawchicky.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course the network is UP, you just mentioned being naked in the shower. That does it every time ;)

[identity profile] roina-arwen.livejournal.com 2010-05-26 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
W00!

[identity profile] worldofcharlie.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 04:40 pm (UTC)(link)
I totally like this theory....

[identity profile] mstrobel.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 12:51 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm siiiick, go away.

[identity profile] roina-arwen.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 01:42 pm (UTC)(link)
*hands you a steaming bowl of homemade chicken soup and a box of tissues*

[identity profile] mstrobel.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 02:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Angel! <3

[identity profile] gratefuladdict.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 06:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Ugh, me too. Wanna watch Mad Men Season 3 with me? We can pet my cats and feel sorry for ourselves.

[identity profile] mstrobel.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 06:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Gizmo cuddles! It's a deal!

[identity profile] gratefuladdict.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 06:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Careful though.. sometimes she's a feisty cuddler, as Casey can attest...

:)

[identity profile] mstrobel.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 06:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Aaahh!!! She's so adorable! What a tough little warrior XD

[identity profile] java-fiend.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 06:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Awwwwwwwww... I sorry. I hope the ick goes away soon!

[identity profile] mstrobel.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 06:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Me toooo. I've only read about three entries so far this week and I wanted to get onto that today but right now anything over two lines long is breaking my brain XD

[identity profile] java-fiend.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 07:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh man, Broken Brain Syndrome is horrible. We don't want that. Drug up, baby. Drug up!

[identity profile] lawchicky.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
awwwww

*snugs* Feel better!

[identity profile] mstrobel.livejournal.com 2010-05-26 09:58 am (UTC)(link)
Believe me I am trying XD

[identity profile] sra33.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 12:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Nonono, cats leave you "presents" to show you how virile and predatory they are. To impose upon you how awesome they undoubtedly are by bringing back to you their kill which is used to sustain life and reinforcing to you why you have them in your house. They are invincible! And they're thanking you for taking care of them and feeding them and all that jazz, too. It's their Job (capitol J) to hunt and bring the kill to their uhh.. pack leader?

Anywhoozle...

I just got back from my 5 day trip in Texas. For some reason I'm extremely depressed today. You'd think if I'd be depressed after a trip, it'd be coming home from Hawaii, but not so much. I left two awesome friends, my boyfriend, and came back to a messy house (it's still in massive disarray from my roommate moving in) and no job. I'm depressed.

To top the depressed meter, the friend I went to see graduate from the police academy lost his cousin over the weekend. A 19 year old boy who was in a motorcycle accident. I guess he didn't use his helmet and bounced off the pavement 3 or 4 times. He didn't make it through 24 hours. :'( So on his first week on the job, my friend is going to have to ask for time off to drive 4 hours each way for a funeral.

Everyone needs to think good thoughts for their family, and that I get some semblance of a job very soon, because I feel I might go crazy otherwise.

This was long enough, so I bid you adieu! How was everyone else's weekend? :D
~Sammy-Joe

[identity profile] roina-arwen.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 01:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm really sorry to hear about your friend's cousin. Why *anyone* would ride a motorcycle without a helmet is beyond my comprehension!! *hugs*

My weekend was pretty uneventful - got a mani/pedi, did a bit of shopping, read, and played around on facebook. Whee!

[identity profile] sra33.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 02:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, people argue that sometimes helmets can cause deaths. Kinda like a seat belt can cause a death... but the pros far outweigh the cons for seat belts, so it's surprising people keep banging on about helmets. *shrug*

[identity profile] cacophonesque.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 02:21 pm (UTC)(link)
The thing is... ANYTHING can cause deaths. EATING can cause death--but not eating is far more likely to cause death. The overwhelming evidence supports that wearing helmets saves lives. It frustrates me to no end that there are people out there who won't wear seatbelts or helmets when it makes so much difference in the event of an accident.

I am sorry for your friend having to go through this. :(

[identity profile] mstrobel.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 02:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Where I grew up, it was drummed into us so hard to wear helmets when cycling that it always -stuns- me when I'm in other countries and there's never a helmet in sight!

[identity profile] sra33.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 03:02 pm (UTC)(link)
To be honest, the way it was sounding, he probably couldn't have survived even with a helmet. His body was so badly damaged he died even on full ICU support machines. :\ But all the internal head injuries he sustained most likely didn't help at all.

[identity profile] pixiebelle.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 03:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I agree with this completely. I have seen way too many accidents to not wear my seat belt or a helmet. Considering I come from a group who rides motorcycles often and have seen accidents that could have killed the person if it weren't for the helmets, I just don't get it. It isn't worth the risk.

[identity profile] roina-arwen.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 02:51 pm (UTC)(link)
I would argue that only *improperly fitting* helmets can cause death - if you're borrowing a helmet and it is too big for your head, I can see where it might shift and/or block your peripheral vision or something.

If someone is willing to invest in their own motorcycle/moped/et al, or has an SO who owns one that they ride frequently, then they need to invest in a proper helmet, too!

("Banging on..." heh!)

[identity profile] sra33.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 03:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah I never understood that whole mentality. My dad would have died before he even met my mom if he didn't have a helmet on when he got in a motorcycle crash in his 20's.

[identity profile] pixiebelle.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 03:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Helmet laws are a debate here in MO. I don't see why anyone wouldn't wear a helmet. I ALWAYS wear one and anyone I know wears one too or I don't go.

I have a friend who has no short term memory thanks to not wearing his properly (he had it on his head but didn't actually have the thingies latched to keep it on and it fell off his head when he had his accident).

[identity profile] similiesslip.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 02:44 pm (UTC)(link)
::hugs:: All that to think about...I think anyone would be depressed.

I'm sorry about your friend's cousin.

[identity profile] sra33.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 03:00 pm (UTC)(link)
:) thanks for the huggles. ♥

[identity profile] pixiebelle.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 03:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I am very sorry to hear about his death :( It is always sad to hear of someone dying so young.

I am sending good thoughts your way that you get a job soon. I really need one myself, so I feel the pain. I am really hoping I hear back from the job I interviewed with last week and I am going to hit the job search hard today.

[identity profile] sra33.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 04:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Wishing you tons and tons of luck with your job interview!!! :D

[identity profile] worldofcharlie.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 04:41 pm (UTC)(link)
(((Hugs)) about your friend's cousin...

[identity profile] sra33.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 05:11 pm (UTC)(link)
ty so much. I'm sending all the good wishes along to his family. :)

[identity profile] java-fiend.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 06:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Yikes. I'm sorry to hear about your friend.

Good thoughts to their family and to you, sweetie.

[identity profile] sra33.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 07:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Ty much Mr. Fiend. :) I'm still trying to supply them with some moral support, even though I'm now about 1000 miles away. Or however far away Michigan and Texas is.

[identity profile] lawchicky.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 10:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh how terrible :( I read about so many motorcycle accidents at work I'd be afraid to get onto one at all at this point.

[identity profile] comedychick.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 01:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Remember that time I said I wouldn't be around as much because now I'm playing Final Fantasy more again? Yeah, it froze in the middle of my son playing it this morning and now the PS3 won't recognise any discs - games, blu-rays, anything. So I spent a good portion of today trying to figure out how to fix it and am now onto my second last resort - reformatting the hard drive. If this doesn't work, we're going to have to get a replacement drive :(

[identity profile] pixiebelle.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 03:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, that just sucks :( My brother had this happen to him recently. He had to send the PS3 back to Sony and they fixed it (for $150). Something to do with the laser in his case. Hope it's much simpler for you!

[identity profile] comedychick.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 04:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Nope, looks like that's exactly what we're going to have to do too. Price sounds right for what I found online. I don't know where we have to send it in Malaysia or how much it'll cost here, though. At least reformatting didn't cause me any extra issues and the backups worked fine.

[identity profile] pixiebelle.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 04:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh that sucks. I don't know how they do it over there, but they sent a box to my mom (overnight I believe) and she mailed it in. I believe it took a week or two, but I could be wrong. Apparently it is a common issue and that is about all you can do about it when the laser goes out.

[identity profile] comedychick.livejournal.com 2010-05-26 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
Well... from the reading I'm doing, it seems like that's Sony's idea of what the problem is, but it isn't actually the laser, Sony just wants people to fork over $150. Someone on the PS web site said they had a solution if I PM them, so hopefully I'll get a better resolve that way. Seeing people say the same thing happens again days, weeks or months after having that part replaced doesn't make me want to fork over money for it to be "fixed."

[identity profile] sra33.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 04:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Booooo :( Computer's screwing up just sucks balls.
Edited 2010-05-25 16:03 (UTC)

[identity profile] comedychick.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 04:04 pm (UTC)(link)
It really, really does. Especially when it's both your video game system and affects your ability to watch blu-ray movies! LOL.

[identity profile] sra33.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 04:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Eep! No movies OR games?! That's crippling! Most of my movies I watch on the computer, and my video games are on here, as well as internet, so if something happens to it (knocks really hard on wood), I'd be seriously SOL.

[identity profile] comedychick.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
I can watch DVDs because I have other DVD players, which is why I just said blu-rays ;) But yeah, it's f'ed up, especially when I'm finding out how many people have been affected in the same way.

[identity profile] lawchicky.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
stupid piece of electronics! I hate how we spend so much on these devices these days and they break so easily. My dad still has a VCR from like 1982 and the thing STILL works without any trouble. It's like a TANK.

[identity profile] comedychick.livejournal.com 2010-05-26 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not at all happy when reading up how many people have been affected by this issue on older model PS3s. :( I wish they still built things that lasted that long, too! But of course they want us to spend more on such things when they break, don't they?

[identity profile] cacophonesque.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 01:07 pm (UTC)(link)
I finished reading and voting in a marathon spree last night and this morning. Sorry for the extreme lack of commenting. I'm still glad that I managed to get an entry in for this week!

Last night I hung out with [livejournal.com profile] zia_narratora as a little bon voyage party of two. Today is my last day of work. Tonight I frantically pack and try to get shit in order. Tomorrow I head north to Maine and start sorting my life out up there.

So, scared, stressed out, excited, nervous, anxious... yup. That's me!

[identity profile] comedychick.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 01:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Good luck! I'm sure you'll be fine.

[identity profile] cacophonesque.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 02:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you! It's in my nature to be full of anxiety. But I'm trying to keep optimism alive!

[identity profile] teaberryblue.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 01:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I love you, Destiny! <3 <3 <3

[identity profile] cacophonesque.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 02:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I love you, too, Tea! ♥

[identity profile] beautyofgrey.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 03:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Good luck with the move. You're in my thoughts. :)

[identity profile] cacophonesque.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 06:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you! It's nice to have people cheering for me.

[identity profile] gratefuladdict.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 06:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Good luck - I know you'll do great!!

[identity profile] cacophonesque.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 06:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you for the vote of confidence!

[identity profile] java-fiend.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 07:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Tomorrow. Wow. I'm so excited for you. I just know you are going to be so happy back home. I can't wait to hear your adventures from Maine, sweetie.

[identity profile] lawchicky.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 10:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Yay! I can't believe you're moving already. It seems like yesterday you made the decision to go and it seemed like it was a long time to prepare back then.

Good luck, but I know you're going to be fine!

[identity profile] agirlnamedluna.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 01:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm all sorts out of it - to add to the meter in this thread lol.
Hardly slept (stayed up late for a featured chat with Criminal Minds' producer) and just generally not feeling all too good about myself heh.

That said, I hadn't been in the green room in ages ... have you repainted the walls without asking me? *pout*

[identity profile] pixiebelle.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 03:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I second the out of sorts today. I am not feeling too good about myself today either. Hope it gets better for you.

[identity profile] agirlnamedluna.livejournal.com 2010-05-26 01:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Hope the same for you :)

[identity profile] teaberryblue.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 01:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I started reading and voting last night but I'm also cleaning my apartment for company, so I'm taking it slow. Gosh, the poll is tiny. I hope it doesn't get poll envy.

I am in work-related hell of a kind that it would be very unprofessional of me to discuss in detail. :-(

[identity profile] similiesslip.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 02:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Only dancers get pole envy, LOL ;)

(and sorry about the hell. I hope you find the other side SOON!)

[identity profile] roina-arwen.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 02:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I think the poll shrunk in the wash!

Must be all the rain we've been having recently...

[identity profile] sra33.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 03:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Hehe, but it'll make a good sweater for the chihuahua, right? XD

[identity profile] worldofcharlie.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 04:42 pm (UTC)(link)
we had to clean our place for company that's coming over today... :)

but ya know - I figured we were overdo with our spring cleaning...

Have fun!!

[identity profile] java-fiend.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 06:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Man... so many people commenting about the "tininess" of the poll... let me just say that size isn't everything!!! :-p

Hope your work-related hell passes quickly and leaves you in peace. :-(

[identity profile] pixiebelle.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 03:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I have lizards in my house all the time for whatever reason. I am always rescuing them from my cat and letting them back outside. So far, I have only found out still alive with a gash in his side that probably killed him later. I like lizards, so that made me sad.

Otherwise, not much to say today. I booked my flight to Tampa for OddCon, today I am booking the hotel. So that's going well. I have a few other trips to look forward to also.

Today was just one of those days I woke up not feeling like myself. I didn't want to get out of bed *sigh*. I am just not feeling too good about myself today. But I am sure it will pass.

Yikes, it appears a lot of people are out of sorts today. Wonder if something is in the air...
Edited 2010-05-25 15:40 (UTC)

[identity profile] java-fiend.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 06:32 pm (UTC)(link)
So who *were* ya feeling when you woke up? :-p

Hang in there, you. *HUGS*

If it's not in the air, it's something in the water, that's for sure.

[identity profile] pixiebelle.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 06:41 pm (UTC)(link)
The question should be who would I *like* to be feeling when I woke up? :-p

I will survive. It's just one of those days *HUGS*

If it's not in the water, it must be the Diet Dr. Pepper since I sure seem to drink a lot of that...

[identity profile] java-fiend.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
lol.. tsk tsk tsk. :-p

You will do more than survive. You will be awesome.

And there ain't nothin' but good stuff in the Diet Dr. Pepper! :-)

[identity profile] pixiebelle.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 09:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Sorry, I couldn't resist. What did you expect from little ole me now? ;)

I will be awesome, huh? And you know that for a fact? lol Sometimes I am not so sure...but surviving is a good step.

Mmmhmm I could live off Diet Dr. Pepper and peanut butter. Actually, I have before....

[identity profile] lawchicky.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 10:20 pm (UTC)(link)
*hugs* Sorry you're out of sorts. I feel a little that way myself, but hoping that tomorrow will be better!

[identity profile] beautyofgrey.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 03:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Good day!

I am doing...okay! Yesterday brought some news of relief for us, which is great, although last night I experienced what was likely my first panic attack. Cripes, I hope it was a freak incident and does not become a habit.

In other news, I am counting down the days to my vacation. Which won't happen until July. *whimper*

And I just want to say...I'm really amazed to have made it this far in the competition. Being in a poll with all of you really kind of blows my mind, because you are all amazing, amazing writers... you inspire me to write more creatively and to have fun with it. Voting just gets ridiculously harder as we progress.

What I'm saying is... I love you, man. ♥ This has been so much fun and I'm so glad I decided to try it out. I never, ever imagined I'd still be writing in May. :)

[identity profile] pixiebelle.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 03:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I have to say I am still very, very flattered to be here too. I am simply amazed because everyone that is left is so awesome...I just can't imagine being here with everyone since they are so very talented. Of course that includes you as well!

I never imagined I would still be writing by Christmas, much less May! It has been such a great time, so much that I would never have expected either.

Panic attacks are not fun :( I hope it was just a freak incident and you don't have another.

[identity profile] mstrobel.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 06:21 pm (UTC)(link)
May, neither! I remember when this began, I had a trip planned for January and I was thinking, well I won't still be in it then so I won't have to worry about deadlines ... hah XD

I look around at the group remaining and I really don't feel like I should still be here. But I like that I am, for now :)

[identity profile] java-fiend.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 06:28 pm (UTC)(link)
I hope panic attacks don't become habit for you either. *hugs*

You are an amazing writer, it surprises me like not at all that you're still in the game. Seriously. You really have an amazingly smooth style that's just fantastic to read.

Voting is most definitely getting ridiculously hard. I iz scared. Very scared.

[identity profile] cacophonesque.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 07:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I never thought, when I signed up, that I would last this long. I've never had overly much confidence in my writing, and was mostly looking for a means to challenge myself into writing more. And now I just feel blown away to still be here.

And I thank all of you for helping to build my confidence a bit. It's been such a journey and I've met so many awesome people (some of whom I should get around to adding as friends, still).

[identity profile] lawchicky.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 10:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I feel the same way. I never thought I would make it this far in the competition. It seems to have gotten the best of me this week, but I can't feel too badly. I just ran out of time to write!

Speaking of chicken suits... does anyone else find the flying game in the Wii fit as much fun as I do?

[identity profile] worldofcharlie.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 04:42 pm (UTC)(link)
We need to actually figure out how to play Wii Fit

[identity profile] worldofcharlie.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 04:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm always walking around with my head cut off.. :) nothing new..

no wait..wasn't Gary talking about chicken suits??? But aren't rubber chickens cheaper and less hassle??

No wait..

I need to wake up..and stop waving my arms around...

But seriously - I'm noticing when it's online vs face-to-face...wrestling matches just happen more easily. You have people that take things 100% literally, can't read emotions or always put a lot of emotions to emails, IMs, chats, Blogs, Facebook, all virtual stuff.

Things can work out if you let it..

I know it sounds overly simplistic...but it's true.. :)

[identity profile] gratefuladdict.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 06:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, this is just a rough day for everyone, isn't it?

I am home sick. I have two kitty nurses taking good care of me, when they aren't busy licking each other's butts. I have season 3 of Mad Men all queued up, and I'm just trying to take it easy and cross my fingers that my event goes smoothly tonight!

Got my reading and voting done last night, so I'm going to relax.

[identity profile] java-fiend.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 06:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Ick. Sorry you got the creeping crud. But it sounds like you have just the cure... any and all butt licking excluded. Yikes. ;-)

Relax and feel better soon. :-)

[identity profile] gratefuladdict.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 06:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks hun. :)

[identity profile] cacophonesque.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Feel better! I'm imagining your kitties in little nurses uniforms being adorable and bringing you Jell-O cups.

[identity profile] gratefuladdict.livejournal.com 2010-05-26 03:55 am (UTC)(link)
Ooooooh I wonder if I can find cat nurse uniforms online somewhere... :D

[identity profile] gratefuladdict.livejournal.com 2010-05-26 03:55 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks lady!!

[identity profile] sonarvampress.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 06:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I am doing pretty shitty. How is everyone else?

[identity profile] java-fiend.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 06:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Ack. Sorry for the shittiness. :-(

[identity profile] pixiebelle.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 06:42 pm (UTC)(link)
It seems to be in the air or something because I am pretty shitty too...

[identity profile] lawchicky.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 10:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Sorry you're having a bad day. I've been ready to go back to bed since I got up this morning!

[identity profile] java-fiend.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 06:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey, how YOOOOOOUUU doin'?

I am glad the Feline O' Doom is an indoor cat. I shudder to think what that evil little bastard would bring me parts of... neighborhood dogs and small children perhaps?

Chicken suits Gary? Are you a closet furry or something? Yeah, I've heard about y'all and y'all scare me. :-p

Hope everybody is having a tolerable, if not fantastic Tuesday!

[identity profile] pixiebelle.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 06:44 pm (UTC)(link)
My cat is an indoor kitty too and still brings me lizards. I shudder to think what sort of critters she would bring me if she were indeed an outdoor one.

Hope you're day continues to go well for ya, sweetie!

[identity profile] java-fiend.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 09:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Eeeeeeeewwwww... gutted lizards is gross. :-p

[identity profile] pixiebelle.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 09:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Luckily, I haven't had any gutted ones yet. One that was almost gutted, but I hope I saved them. Otherwise, I'd be sad. I like lizards a lot :(

[identity profile] java-fiend.livejournal.com 2010-05-26 04:41 am (UTC)(link)
Apparently, your cats like them a lot too! :-)

[identity profile] pixiebelle.livejournal.com 2010-05-26 04:49 am (UTC)(link)
She likes any little critter that she can chase and smack around!

[identity profile] java-fiend.livejournal.com 2010-05-27 05:12 am (UTC)(link)
Well who doesn't really? lol...

[identity profile] java-fiend.livejournal.com 2010-05-27 05:18 am (UTC)(link)
lol... I thought so, thanks. :-p

[identity profile] pixiebelle.livejournal.com 2010-05-27 05:49 am (UTC)(link)
lol does that have a hidden meaning that I am too ditzy to see or something?

[identity profile] java-fiend.livejournal.com 2010-05-27 05:49 am (UTC)(link)
Ummmmmmmmm... nope. Not that I can see.

[identity profile] pixiebelle.livejournal.com 2010-05-27 05:52 am (UTC)(link)
Ok, good....I thought maybe it sounded slightly dirty in a way only my mind could be capable of doing lol

[identity profile] java-fiend.livejournal.com 2010-05-27 05:56 am (UTC)(link)
lol... you're not the boss of me. You can't tell me what to do. :-p

[identity profile] pixiebelle.livejournal.com 2010-05-27 05:58 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, look who's being bratty now. Adorable.

[identity profile] java-fiend.livejournal.com 2010-05-27 06:00 am (UTC)(link)
That wasn't bratty. That was assertive!

[identity profile] pixiebelle.livejournal.com 2010-05-27 06:01 am (UTC)(link)
mmmm you know what I say about assertiveness. Looks like you are taking notes too ;)

[identity profile] pixiebelle.livejournal.com 2010-05-27 06:08 am (UTC)(link)
lol Good to know ;)

[identity profile] cacophonesque.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 06:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm doing.

And plotting out schemes to pay tribute to emporers.

[identity profile] java-fiend.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 07:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Make sure those schemes include sunshiney underpants. I'm sure emporers like that kinda thing. ;-)

[identity profile] cacophonesque.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 07:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, the most sunshiniest ever!

[identity profile] java-fiend.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
*drooooooooool*

[identity profile] lawchicky.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 10:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Tired! In case I haven't mentioned it 20 times around here already. I'm exhausted! Trying to finish my work hours and get the kids and go home!

[identity profile] java-fiend.livejournal.com 2010-05-26 04:44 am (UTC)(link)
Poor you! I hope you managed to get some rest this evening!

[identity profile] cobycaroline.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 08:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Speaking of kitties... if anyone in the Houston area is interested in adopting some really cute 5-week old kittens, let me know! My good friends found a litter in their garage.

I would've taken them but my husband strongly dislikes cats. :(

But other than that... not really looking forward to going home. It'll be me and the dog as my husband is out of town through Saturday afternoon (at worst). But I should be able to watch the Biggest Loser finale uninterrupted.

Any BL fans? Anyone?

[identity profile] pixiebelle.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 09:20 pm (UTC)(link)
I like Biggest Loser, though I don't watch it much. Mainly because my husband takes over the tv most evenings...

[identity profile] kittymichaels.livejournal.com 2010-05-25 09:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Allow me to interpret this for you.

Whenever I catch a lizard - typically delicious gecko - I eat the whole thing. Grey Cat feels the same way. She'll eat the whole lizard, as she should.

The only circumstance that would lead me to leave even a little lizard around would be as an offering to a great god.

Your cats have obviously decided that you are worthy of worship. They have brought you this offering as a form of tribute. The proper response is to gobble the lizard pieces down immediately and then nap.

[identity profile] gratefuladdict.livejournal.com 2010-05-26 03:57 am (UTC)(link)
But what if the lizard is an offering to a greater god, and their human is only supposed to join their cat in worship?
