Woo Hoooooo, I finally have a day off that coincides with a GR!!!

Me? Spydie stopped by on her way home yesterday. Too short a visit. Today I get to do all those "housewifey" type things and rest up for what's going to be The Week Of Hell at work (I'm going to shuttled to another store for a few days, then after that maybe another store on top of that, which will essentially mean my store may never see me again...)

So, how's everybody doing?

Tropical heatwave here in sweden, with rains and thunder. So it is first shorts day!

My husband and I are going to an Indian friend's wedding reception tomorrow and my husband just asked me, "What are we giving them as a gift?" and I flipped out because I totally haven't bought anything yet. I think it just slipped my mind that you're actually supposed to give wedding gifts. Worst part is I've got NO clue what to give them. Wondering if I should just buy them booze, LOL. (Edit: my husband kept suggesting "traditional" Indian things like Bollywood movies, but I declined because in the past my friend made fun of my husband for owning the Bollywood movies he does... I'm thinking something too Indian is a bad idea, seeing as the couple are only doing the Indian wedding thing to appease their parents).

And my Godparents are coming up from Singapore for the weekend. They'll be looking after our son so we can go.

I'm also totally disappearing from the Internet again since I finally progressed further in Final Fantasy XIII and it's no longer frustrating me XD

Good morning. Still sick. Today I leave work early for staff retreat! We're going bowling! It would be more fun if I could breathe properly, but I'm still excited.

Need to figure out an entry.
Need to pack more.
Need to mail some stuff to my friend.
Need to stop getting overwhelmed.

My weekend will involve packing. And watching Lost. Maybe some rest. And applying to a job that seems interesting. Oh, and writing an Idol post.

Rain predicted for the weekend so we are looking for indoor things to do.

Are your friends registered anywhere for gifts? If all else fails, you can always give them a gift card to somewhere you know your friends like to shop...

I'm definitely lost in time... I'm supposed to be at work by 9:00 am, but slept through my alarm and got a call from a co-worker about 25 minutes ago wondering where I was and if I was coming in today... oops!

Right now I'm drinking a cup of tea and trying to wake up. I'm hoping to have time for a quick shower since I neglected to bathe yesterday. Fortunately, it only takes me about 15 minutes to drive to work, so with luck I'll make it in by 11, whee.

Can you say "comp time," aka "paid time off"? I knew you could!

Probably more rain and yuck all weekend, but, hey, my strawberries, corn and bean plants are all doin the Happy Dance. Same for the blueberries.

Yeah...definitely LOST on Sunday.
Who watched GREY'S last night? Man, It was hard to get to sleep after that one. Since I had just had a gun / crisis control class for work this spring, I saw lots of flaws and missed opportunities for the characters to take down the shooter and do a "Todd Beamer Job" on the guy, ("let's roll")..., but, well...It's fictional TV and not reality. Still I kept thinking...He was one dude...a drunk dude...and old drinkin' dude w a gun...in a hospital with a ton of workers trained to use syringes, scalpels and morphene!

Oh, my other news...I have applied for a dream job in the school district where I want to work more than any other school system. Wish me luck and do prayer, magic dances, good light, vibes, light green candles...or blue and gold for the school's colors will do...anything you can...Please??? This could be a sweet opportunity. The other teacher is not coming back...No one knows why...My references are stellar...I just hope they call me in to interview....AND THEN HIRE ME!!!

Pretty boring weekend here. Though my sorority is having a demolition sale and event tomorrow because we are getting a new house, so I plan on being out there. If all works out, I may be spending the night at my old sorority house. I really hope that works out, but who knows. I seem to doubt it.

Otherwise, noting exciting going on besides the usual for me. I think the soon to be ex hubby is going out of town, which is great. I love having the house to myself! So that would make the weekend much more enjoyable :)

I'm jealous! I wish it were raining here.

*yawns* I had a bunch of nightmares last night. It was lame.

On the plus side, my old roomie is coming to visit this weekend! I am excited to see my Greggles. :)

I second checking for registries. theknot.com has a section that allows you to search their name to see if they have a registry somewhere. If not, gift cards are awesome.

What I did for a friend when I was clueless (she had everything bought off her only registry) is throw together a nice basket with some local wine and some things to go with it like a corkscrew and snacks for a romantic night in. We covered it in orange camo material (the groom was a big hunter) and decorated it with fake autumn leaves (the bride loved fall). They loved how personal it was and it barely cost us anything actually (we were poor college students).

Or give them a date night by getting them a gift card or two to several local places.

Some of the best gifts we received were the personal ones. Yeah, we got crock pots (three to be exact and we already owned one) and tons of other appliances we didn't really need, but the best ones were the smaller, but more unique gifts.

Rain's on it's way here too...supposed to rain just on time for this party tomorrow..

Just means that there won't be any fire-play...*sighs*...that's usually fun to watch but I don't think he's gonna do that inside the house...and if it's raining - it's not gonna happen...

Otherwise - it'll be nice and cozy inside...

I had dreams about our cat adopting a stray kitten and taking care of it (our cat's a boy so I dunno about that one and he's really big)

Since I was running so late, I didn't take the extra time to drop by Starbucks, as it is out of the way. I'll probably go get some during my lunch break in about an hour!

It's slightly drizzly here in LEX, but at least it's about 65 degrees!

Seriously, not everyone gets to watch TV right when it's on, so be careful about posting stuff that could be potential spoilers - you don't want to give anything away to those of us (like myself) who DVR but haven't gotten a chance to watch yet!
