My presents are at the farm so I don't get them until next week!
Today we got Monk Bread and my grandparents were surprisingly cool with my explanation that I don't go to church anymore because the Pope says I can't receive Communion because I believe in abortion rights.
We got awesome pajamas last night but our zeppole exploded!

So far Santa brought me a set of bamboo crochet hooks, a sterling silver crochet hook charm, and 2 books I wanted. Oh, and a purse from John' aunt. Oh, and a power outage this morning thanks to TECO. That was fun...not. Listening to the cacophony of the alarm system letting us know there was no power and the battery backup for the server beeping was irritating. But, it's back up sooner than they predicted, so now we're back to lazing around.
We have 2 late Christmases to do with both our families, so we'll be stretching this out for another week. :)

Not sure what Santa brought as Christmas Eve stuff was postponed due to the snow we got yesterday and continue to get today.

It's bad enough that bio brother & his wife don't believe in disciplining the three year old... I keep picturing how he'll be like at 16.
It's been a nice xmas thus far.

The dogs got bones from the butcher; the cats, a new kitty hide-out and some plush balls with feathers on them.
I bought the husband an IBS-oriented cookbook and a handbook on mixing drinks with a plush huskey to join the other plushes at his workstation at work.
Florida gave us drenching rains, high humidity, and unseasonably warm temperatures.
I'm baking a ham and my special "pork orgy" greens (over a pound of slab bacon, at least two pounds of jowl, and a pound of smoked hocks in it). I made brownies which didn't suck, the first baked goods I've ever made which didn't need disposed of by a hazmat team.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

He got a squeaky moose from his grandma, a scarey pink squeaky bird from me, and a bone that is a nyla hard bone on the ends and rubber in the middle from the dental christmas ferry, aka me. lol. He also got stuff from co-workers including a tug ring, a stuffed candy cane, and yogurt treats, and bacon treats from the dog walker, he's spoilled!

I'm happy to have new books and music and games to play. I didn't end up having to make myself sit through church last night, and I ate ice cream for lunch today.
I think I'm going to settle in with my copy of Dissidia Final Fantasy or maybe my new Muse CD and my new Alton Brown cookbook and just chillax until I make some Christmas dinner.

This year brought me (even if I put my own cash towards it):
A PS3 (if you're online on this, let me know)
a couple of games
the rest of the Artemis Fowl series
Book 13 of Lemony Snicket
a nice dinner at Outback Steakhouse
a Saturday night of traveling to another Universe by myself
All in all, not the bestest, but satisfying.
Happy Holidays to all!

What Santa has brought me and will bring me today:
Earl Grey tea and chocolate tea biscuits, a turkey dinner, a cheese and crackers platter with celery sticks and carrots on the side to be dipped in Paul Newman dressing, a chocolate pudding pie with whipped cream, assistance with cleanup after consumption of same, some time spent watching favorites on vid and listening to music, and some under-the-covers pitching of woo.

I also got to be home in MI with my family for our first Christmas without my grandpa (dad's dad) who passed in September. That was very important to me.
Oh, and I got myself my membership for Dragon*Con in September, and my hotel reservation! Talk about best Christmas ever! ^_^
Now I'm off to figure out how to cook the geese my brother shot this fall and learn how to cook acorn squash, too.

I just finished celebrating with my family, and I had so much fun. The reactions when everyone found out my sister was pregnant were absolutely hilarious, and to think I've known for two weeks and never told anyone -- that makes me proud of myself. :D
As for presents, I got a SNUGGIE, which is so warm. I love it. I also got a homemade journal from my dad. Everything is homemade, even the paper, and there are flowers embedded in the paper itself. I'm gonna save the journal to start writing in January, though!

Open presents. Ate good food. Spent quality time with the family.
Good day all around.

I didn't get a ton of gifts, but I loved the ones I got. The hubby booked us a long weekend trip for October, so he gets extra-super points :) Plus my mom got us an Amazon.com certificate. It will probably take me weeks to decide what I actually want to spend it on! So many choices!!!
The best part was getting to be with the family though, and no drama! :)
