Merry Christmas!

My presents are at the farm so I don't get them until next week!

Today we got Monk Bread and my grandparents were surprisingly cool with my explanation that I don't go to church anymore because the Pope says I can't receive Communion because I believe in abortion rights.

We got awesome pajamas last night but our zeppole exploded!

Oh noes zeppole!

Delayed presents are fun.

[identity profile] teaberryblue.livejournal.com 2009-12-25 05:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes! There are delayed presents for you at my house too!

[identity profile] roina-arwen.livejournal.com 2009-12-25 05:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Monk Bread? Does it clean up after itself? ;)

[identity profile] teaberryblue.livejournal.com 2009-12-25 05:14 pm (UTC)(link)
No, it is bread made by monks!

[identity profile] roina-arwen.livejournal.com 2009-12-25 06:06 pm (UTC)(link)
But what sort of bread is it?

Of course, I was playing on Monk, as in our favorite OCD detective. :)

[identity profile] teaberryblue.livejournal.com 2009-12-25 06:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh hahaha I totally missed that.

We have rye, multigrain, sunflower, and date bread.

[identity profile] impoetry.livejournal.com 2009-12-25 09:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Silly Pope. Merry Christmas Tea. Thanks for the adorable Chickenmas card!

[identity profile] lawchicky.livejournal.com 2009-12-26 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
The poor zeppoles! I'm having a moment of silence for them ;)

Merry christmas everyone! Santa didn't bring me very much--but I'm glad for the time with my family. And that I got to see a dear friend on my visit. The rest is just (vegetarian) gravy!

Greetings from Maine.

[identity profile] imafarmgirl.livejournal.com 2009-12-25 04:57 pm (UTC)(link)
You're in Maine? You're a neighbor, sort of. I'm in Northwestern MA

[identity profile] cacophonesque.livejournal.com 2009-12-25 05:04 pm (UTC)(link)
In maine for the holiday weekend. Its where I grew up and my family is still here. But I live in nyc now.

[identity profile] imafarmgirl.livejournal.com 2009-12-25 05:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah. I think NYC is just a few hours from here. I've only been here four years, but still never been to NYC.

[identity profile] teaberryblue.livejournal.com 2009-12-25 05:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Santa brought some of your presents to our house!

[identity profile] imafarmgirl.livejournal.com 2009-12-25 04:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Merry Christmas to all who celebrate it.

[identity profile] worldofcharlie.livejournal.com 2009-12-25 04:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Merry & happy cheer

[identity profile] sdaisyk.livejournal.com 2009-12-25 04:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Merry Christmas...I'm going to take a nap.

[identity profile] liret.livejournal.com 2009-12-25 04:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Merry Christmas and/or Happy Day Off to all!

I got sweaters and a book on resume-building. Now am making brownies and excited to see my sisters.

[identity profile] stormkitty.livejournal.com 2009-12-25 04:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Merry Christmas!

So far Santa brought me a set of bamboo crochet hooks, a sterling silver crochet hook charm, and 2 books I wanted. Oh, and a purse from John' aunt. Oh, and a power outage this morning thanks to TECO. That was fun...not. Listening to the cacophony of the alarm system letting us know there was no power and the battery backup for the server beeping was irritating. But, it's back up sooner than they predicted, so now we're back to lazing around.

We have 2 late Christmases to do with both our families, so we'll be stretching this out for another week. :)

Merry Christmas...
Not sure what Santa brought as Christmas Eve stuff was postponed due to the snow we got yesterday and continue to get today.

[identity profile] worldofcharlie.livejournal.com 2009-12-25 05:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Carrie's been helping her mum childproof the place. Two nephews: 1 & 3 years old & second cousin also age three.

It's bad enough that bio brother & his wife don't believe in disciplining the three year old... I keep picturing how he'll be like at 16.

It's been a nice xmas thus far.

[identity profile] imafarmgirl.livejournal.com 2009-12-25 05:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Ug, might be a interesting day with all the family and especially wild children.

[identity profile] worldofcharlie.livejournal.com 2009-12-25 05:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah well... We've removed all stuff that's breakable.

[identity profile] roina-arwen.livejournal.com 2009-12-25 05:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I just posted a list to my journal of what Santa brought me. To save myself the trouble or re-typing it, you can just go HERE (http://roina-arwen.livejournal.com/1423471.html) and look for yourself.

Merry Christmas, everyone!!

Merry Christmas! I'm waiting to go pick up my boys, who spent their Christmas Eve with their dad. I can't wait to go get them....I'm just trying to keep myself busy in the meantime. :)

[identity profile] walkertxkitty.livejournal.com 2009-12-25 05:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I received a cold (bleah, I think I'll return that one), a day with very mild chemotherapy side effects, special attention from my beloveds, and a steampunked wireless mouse.

The dogs got bones from the butcher; the cats, a new kitty hide-out and some plush balls with feathers on them.

I bought the husband an IBS-oriented cookbook and a handbook on mixing drinks with a plush huskey to join the other plushes at his workstation at work.

Florida gave us drenching rains, high humidity, and unseasonably warm temperatures.

I'm baking a ham and my special "pork orgy" greens (over a pound of slab bacon, at least two pounds of jowl, and a pound of smoked hocks in it). I made brownies which didn't suck, the first baked goods I've ever made which didn't need disposed of by a hazmat team.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

[identity profile] imafarmgirl.livejournal.com 2009-12-25 05:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Fargo might disown me to come live with you, the dogs, and the bones. lol.

He got a squeaky moose from his grandma, a scarey pink squeaky bird from me, and a bone that is a nyla hard bone on the ends and rubber in the middle from the dental christmas ferry, aka me. lol. He also got stuff from co-workers including a tug ring, a stuffed candy cane, and yogurt treats, and bacon treats from the dog walker, he's spoilled!

[identity profile] walkertxkitty.livejournal.com 2009-12-25 05:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Sounds like he's a very lucky dog! Our butcher makes these special and tempers them so that they're edible and non-harmful to the dogs. They love these but they're expensive so they only get them on special occasions.

[identity profile] teaberryblue.livejournal.com 2009-12-25 05:45 pm (UTC)(link)
STEAMPUNK WIRELESS MOUSE?

PIX?

[identity profile] walkertxkitty.livejournal.com 2009-12-25 05:56 pm (UTC)(link)
At the moment, it's just got the plain blue Logitech design on it, but I'm going to add some copper accoutrements and other things. I'm in the process of punking out my laptop, among other things. It looks like this:

[identity profile] teaberryblue.livejournal.com 2009-12-25 05:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh that is gorgeous!

[identity profile] teaberryblue.livejournal.com 2009-12-25 05:22 pm (UTC)(link)
OH MY GOD I JUST SAW YOU WISHED US A MERRY CHICKENMAS.

MERRY CHICKENMAS TO YOU TOO GARY. YOU ARE THE BEST FOR ACKNOLWEDGING MY RELIGION'S OFT-OVERLOOKED HOLY DAY.

[identity profile] thaliontholwen.livejournal.com 2009-12-25 05:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Merry Christmas everyone!

I'm happy to have new books and music and games to play. I didn't end up having to make myself sit through church last night, and I ate ice cream for lunch today.

I think I'm going to settle in with my copy of Dissidia Final Fantasy or maybe my new Muse CD and my new Alton Brown cookbook and just chillax until I make some Christmas dinner.

[identity profile] lovewas.livejournal.com 2009-12-25 05:56 pm (UTC)(link)
This Christmas I'm reminded of why I have such a great life. Everything is perfect right now, seriously. Family, friends, my 2 year old niece, the park, brunch. All is perfect.

[identity profile] lordrexfear.livejournal.com 2009-12-25 06:20 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't get a Christmas as you may or may not know, but since Wednesday was my birthday.

This year brought me (even if I put my own cash towards it):
A PS3 (if you're online on this, let me know)
a couple of games
the rest of the Artemis Fowl series
Book 13 of Lemony Snicket
a nice dinner at Outback Steakhouse
a Saturday night of traveling to another Universe by myself

All in all, not the bestest, but satisfying.

Happy Holidays to all!

[identity profile] mermaidkween.livejournal.com 2009-12-26 07:24 am (UTC)(link)
I'm on PSN, but I don't play too much multiplayer. Currently trying to get into Uncharted 2 multiplayer - it's fun. Username is the same.

[identity profile] joeymichaels.livejournal.com 2009-12-25 06:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Hurray for free topics!

That's what I wanted most for Christmas!

Does that make me an addict?

... and Happy Holidays to everyone!

[identity profile] tigrkittn.livejournal.com 2009-12-25 06:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I didn't get anything for Christmas (it's been a rough year at casa de kitteh) but I was up till 5am knitting something for someone I'm hoping to see next weekend, so I slept till one o'clock and missed half the holiday anyway! Also mom sent a check so I can buy some things for myself (unless I spend it on next weekend's trip, if it happens.) It's pouring rain out so our plan to go drive around and look for over-decorated houses is probably canceled. We'll be going out for chinese food later though!

I hope everyone's having a lovely celebration with family and friends and that you got lots of goodies!

ETA: Chickenmas??

Merry happy everything, but most especially Chickenmas!

What Santa has brought me and will bring me today:

Earl Grey tea and chocolate tea biscuits, a turkey dinner, a cheese and crackers platter with celery sticks and carrots on the side to be dipped in Paul Newman dressing, a chocolate pudding pie with whipped cream, assistance with cleanup after consumption of same, some time spent watching favorites on vid and listening to music, and some under-the-covers pitching of woo.

[identity profile] malruniel11.livejournal.com 2009-12-25 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I got a book thong from my mom's parents, $20 from my dad's step-mom, a Coach purse from my boss, and a New, still in original shrinkwrap record of Rose Petal Place: Concert at Carnation Hall! ^_^ And fabulous conversation with friends!

I also got to be home in MI with my family for our first Christmas without my grandpa (dad's dad) who passed in September. That was very important to me.

Oh, and I got myself my membership for Dragon*Con in September, and my hotel reservation! Talk about best Christmas ever! ^_^

Now I'm off to figure out how to cook the geese my brother shot this fall and learn how to cook acorn squash, too.

[identity profile] impoetry.livejournal.com 2009-12-25 09:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Merry Chickenmas Everyone! Hope it's a good one, even if things are kind of rough on ya. I'm sitting home alone but am filled inside with all the kind thoughts of the people in my life (including all of you), so it doesn't quite feel too alone.

[identity profile] imafarmgirl.livejournal.com 2009-12-26 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
Sorry you are home alone. Passes you a glass of the sparkling apple grape [livejournal.com profile] baxaphobia and I just drank.

[identity profile] callistahogan.livejournal.com 2009-12-25 10:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Merry Christmas!

I just finished celebrating with my family, and I had so much fun. The reactions when everyone found out my sister was pregnant were absolutely hilarious, and to think I've known for two weeks and never told anyone -- that makes me proud of myself. :D

As for presents, I got a SNUGGIE, which is so warm. I love it. I also got a homemade journal from my dad. Everything is homemade, even the paper, and there are flowers embedded in the paper itself. I'm gonna save the journal to start writing in January, though!

[identity profile] puppetmaker40.livejournal.com 2009-12-26 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
Sherlock Holmes fracking RAWKED!

Open presents. Ate good food. Spent quality time with the family.

Good day all around.

[identity profile] lawchicky.livejournal.com 2009-12-26 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
Merry Christmas all!

I didn't get a ton of gifts, but I loved the ones I got. The hubby booked us a long weekend trip for October, so he gets extra-super points :) Plus my mom got us an Amazon.com certificate. It will probably take me weeks to decide what I actually want to spend it on! So many choices!!!

The best part was getting to be with the family though, and no drama! :)
