Green Room - Week 6 - Day 2

Good morning.

Have you turned in your entry for this week yet? Did you notice that the topic was up at all or are you still in a turkey induced coma? Are you in a turkey induced comma? A turkey induced semicolon? A turkey induced colonoscopy?

Whatever the case, get out of your slumber and stumble over to
http://community.livejournal.com/therealljidol/275605.html to turn in your entry and/or check out some of the ones already submitted!

So what's going on in your neck of the woods?

There's an interview with some guy over at www.ljidol.info about Season 6 if anyone is interested.

California has its good points. :-)

What is your field anyway? Good luck on the search. I hope you find something soon!

Real estate development :( Not a very hot area to be in right now. I am actually shocked to see that CA, FL and NYC are the top places for my field when they were hit the hardest. But that is where all the job openings seem to be.

As a kid, I used to dream of living in California. A part of me still yearns for that even though I have heard so many negatives from people who live there now. There still is something about it...I just hate the idea of leaving my family again.

Ouch... that is a tough area. But I'm glad to see that there are jobs out there... sucks that they're so far from your family though. :-(

There are a lot of positives and negatives to life out here. Some days I love it and some days I hate it... but I think most people tend to say that about where they grew up don't they? :-)

Sadly, it seems like I get no bites from companies far away. They seem to all want local candidates and since I am competing with people with 20 or more years experience for the same job, it can be tough to persuade them to consider me.

I used to say I would leave MO and never look back. As I got older, I moved halfway across the country and realized I truly missed being here. So I came back. I know what you mean.

Oh man, having to compete with somebody that has that much experience is brutal. Experience so does not necessarily equal better or more competent. It has to be frustrating. I really hope something good breaks for you soon.

I still fantasize about leaving Southern California and heading up to the Pacific Northwest... I could be really happy up there.
