*Quietly knocks on Wok's door and whispers* I'm going to get you out of here!

*rolls a d20*

Search of 22 - is the door trapped?

What did you roll on your d20?

You find two traps: one on the door itself, and a trapdoor right below it. What do you do?

17 on the d20. I'm not a great searcher, but I have some ranks in it. :)

I carefully take off all the breakfast foods from the table, up-end it so it's laying with its legs in the air, and put it over the trapdoor so that it fully overlaps either side. If the trapdoor is triggered, I should be fine.

As for the door, I have a small dental set, with a mirror and hooks (I really do have these things), so I will see what I can do to disarm it. We've got to get Wok free!

Disable Device: 19

Hmm.

You have successfully disabled the lock on the door to Wok's room; you attempt to push the door open but it won't budge. Apparently, the door opens outward, and alas and alack the lip of the table that you're standing on is preventing the door from opening.

If you take the breakfast table off the floor, you might be able to open Wok's door, but opening Wok's door might trigger the trapdoor.

What now?

I move the breakfast table and attempt to stand off to the side while opening the door. I didn't bring any rope with me, so I can't tie myself off. If the trapdoor is too big, I'll just have to risk that I can jump off before it tumbles me into the recesses below.

Make a dex check! It's a pretty big trapdoor!

[identity profile] norda.livejournal.com 2009-03-30 02:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't feel bad. My dex is in negative numbers.

You get Wok's door open about 3", which triggers the trapdoor beneath you. The trap quickly slides from right to left. You try to hold onto the rounded handle of Wok's door, but for some reason the knob is a bit slippery with a mixture of grease and sweat.

Your feet dangle in midair over a dark, deep hole for about 5 seconds before your fingers inevitably slip. You land on your ass on a well-greased metal slide and are quickly swallowed down.

The trapdoor above you quickly slides back shut, and you're left careening down a slick slide... but to where?

As I fall, I make sure to scream "Wheee!" loud enough for everyone to hear me.

I have a feeling we're going to be sliding food to jfargo now too.

I'd say that's a pretty safe assumption.

*grin*

Depends where in the dungeons of the GR he ends up! He could be in the store rooms, the laundry, or the cesspool - you never know. :)
