It's CLOSE. So you had better make sure your favorite stays. Honestly, I happen to like both of them. I'll be frank that there are still some folks that I haven't gotten a very good "take" on yet. Not that their writing isn't good, just that I personally haven't had a chance to get a feel for who they are yet.

But the two of them aren't in that group. So it's going to be bad either way it turns out as far as I am concerned. The more weeks go by, the harder it is going to be to say goodbye to people - and the closer some of these races are going to get.

I'm all angsty today because it's been 5 years since my favorite musician died. You know...that one that every single songs sounds like it was written by or for you? Yeah, it sucks but it'll pass. He was my angel in this crap life then he died.

I swear, I'm not like this all the time and I WILL NOT write my entry about Elliott Smith. I promise.

I'm going to make a horrible confession.

I had heard Eliott Smith songs before five years ago, an enjoyed them, but it wasn't until after mezzominty send me a massive disc full of ES that I became a *fan*, and that was well after his death. So I'm a bandwagoner.

Nah, a fan is a fan is a fan regardless of how, when or where. All I really care about is the why of it all. I was just lucky enough to have one single person play his CD for me back in '98.

Another fan *waves* Loved "Miss Misery" when I first heard it on "Good Will Hunting" and "Son of Sam" sealed the deal when MTV played it a couple of days later.
