Yes, my first first of the season. I think I had one last season. They are rare because I'm usually busy and I'm watching the GR less now that I'm not in the game.

Good morning...

Having a good one and up to date with reading entries.

Just having an internal debate as to whether I brave the rain and go swimming this afternoon.

I am not quite up to date, but I am doing a better job than I did last week! :)

I am about a third of the way through what has been posted, but I am trying to make some thoughtful comments this time around. Last round, I didn't bother making comments on most entries at all, and I felt bad.

Me too, about the comments. But it was because I waited until the last minute to read and felt so much pressure to get! through! them!

I'm still not commenting to every post, but I'm putting more comments than before. So, progress. :)

I have a hard time finding constructive ideas, however I do point out any grammar/spelling errors just in case... but since English isn't my strength or first language, it is hard for me to critcique other's writing! I always have someone else editing my work!

I should probably start working on my entry. I was going to start it as one of those "The thing about this week's topic is," but realized that I like the entries more when they don't talk about themselves/the game. Am I the only one that found that to be true?

I find it distracting when people write about writing the entry. I think it's a good idea to edit that out. It makes the story you're telling stronger, IMO.

Yes, I think you've pointed out exactly what bothers me about starting that way: It's distracting. Many times I find it almost difficult to read after a beginning along those lines.

It is annoying, but...

You can always start writing it that way, and then go back and remove that paragraph when you are finished.

Alternatively, start writing in the middle somewhere, and go back and add the beginning later.

Oh, I definitely appreciate the helpfulness. I've decided that when I get that urge I'm going to just write it in my head, and start writing once I've mentally completed it.

I edit. A lot.

Stephen King in On Writing says there are two kinds of editors - people who put things in on the edit, and people who take things out.

I'm a taker outer. My entries are always longer when I first write them. Then I chop them to bitsies. :)

Exactly. When I edit-on-the-go, it's never as good. Sometimes if I just blart whatever out, I'll end up with something much different than I thought I would when I started, but it comes from a better place inside my head.

I'm up early 'cause I gotta go get some fasting bloodwork drawn this morning, and get an ultrasound of my liver - whee. GI Doc is merely trying to find the cause of why my liver enzymes have been slightly out-of-whack these past many years. He suspects it is probably just some mild "fatty liver" but wants to be sure. Blargh.

You too? I worked 5 hours yesterday and thought I was going to keel over by hour 3. Our HR person kept saying, "You had major surgery! Of course you feel like you're going to keel over!"

I've just found that I'm SO tired all the time...

I keep telling myself "A little at a time". I might've felt crappy after 5 hours, but 5 will go into 6 and go into 7...

That and I really need to start going to bed early too. I haven't gone to bed before 2AM in probably a month :eek:

I'm feeling the same way! After my surgery I got so used to staying up until 2 and getting up at 9 then taking a little nap in the afternoon. My body's confused by this 9-5 stuff!

The week...going slow and fast. Monday was so slow but I got kicked out of work early due to a computer swap and then yesterday went by pretty quick. Class tonight and tomorrow after work so that makes for long slow days.

Good morning all. I had a really busy day yesterday. Went to the dentist so he could make a NTI for me, then to have an ultrasound. I can now say officially that this baby 'boy' had a lot of fun yesterday wiggling around and hiding behind my belly button so the tech couldn't get the pictures she needed.

I want today to be a lot slower. I have to be productive though. I think I need some tea.

Back in the days when I thought I might some day have a baby, I was going to name him/her Nicole or Nikolas (spelled with a k for homage to my uncle), so that he/she could be Nikki throughout the pregnancy and I wouldn't have to deal with the he/she/it conversations.

Those days have passed.

I gave my mom the dreamcatcher yesterday because I was just that darned curious and... well her birthday was earlier this month, and he likes it! :)

She says she'll hang it in her room-Yea! She also said that it was really nicely wrapped. :)

I had to remind my life coach that It was Tuesday yesterday; she'd gotten caught up in reading Glass Castle. So we talked about that for a while and how we should all capture some of that abandon because it helps us be fearless in the face of some of the things we might be nervous about.

She asked if Lou and I had gone anywhere and I told her about the beach (andthe aftermath) and the walmart trip Mom and I toook. :)

Then it was a voice lesson trip and a trip to Fort Myers so Mom could pick up some medisine and I wemt to Barnes and Noble to pick up a starbucks giftcard for someone.

So it's been going pretty good. :)

It's Wednesday and I wish it was Friday. I'm at work but really should be home. I am off to the doctor this afternoon. I guess I can't seem to shake the plague. I seem to feel better then boom, it comes back in some new and exciting form.

Jail is scary.

This is the mantra I used to avoid killing any of the actors during rehearsals for this show. Despite friends who promised to post bail, and a few fellow staff members who offered to be character witnesses, killing someone still gains you at least some jail time. And well... jail is scary.

Silly I know, but maybe it will help.

I'm hard at work... or hardly working... take your pick, one is usually right.

I'm also freaking out because OMG play opens next weekend and I just got a handful of new lines to take over a character, and I suck at memorization. That's why I'm a sword fighter! I don't need lines! I just grunt and swing weapons.

But yeah, that's my life at the moment.

Guh - there should be a point at least a week before opening when the director and writer have to work with what they have instead of continuing to invent new stuff.

More like the cast members need to stop quitting a week before the show goes up because they knew they couldn't committ 100% but wanted to try.

That is a world of no good. I am always a little floored by that, even if I knew I wasn't going to be great I would feel way too responsible to the show and everyone else to walk away.

Hopefully there will be smooth sailing from here to your opening.
