Things have been really busy at work. As usual. It looks like the two new employees that I had lined up to go through the hiring process have bailed. One accepted the offer but hasn't actually turned anything in. I've been following up with her but she hasn't gotten back to me. The other just completely ghosted. 

With more work set to shift to us, with the part timers ending their time, well, it's not good.  

But hey, we'll get through, somehow, or we won't.  ;)

Today's been a crazy day for me - the place I work for has two locations that are about 15 minutes apart, and I had to go to one location in the morning for like two hours, then go over to the other location for a few hours, then come back to the first location. Now my other staff member has been leaving at 3:00 every day (lucky her) so I'm just chilling by myself and finally have a few moments to relax. I'm ready to get home, though; these last couple of hours always drag so much. :(

I'm kind of wishing that I hadn't gotten my entry in so early now - not that I'm not happy with it, but it's been weird just sitting around twiddling my thumbs for a few weeks. Saturday can't come fast enough!

Same here with the entry - early poster = long time thumb twiddler, especially with the extra long week! I think I’ve read through everything that’s been posted to both the LJ and DW prompt threads, at least through last night.

I’m working at home today, but will head back to the office tomorrow morning.

Trying to get cuts to work correctly in DW (getting frustrated with that) Looks like LJ is out. We're visiting bio parents. Plus, Carrie met up with an old friend from high school she made out with like once, so we're kind of dealing with that too...

You can tweak your entry before deadline.(as good to me by Roina) I posted early as we've been going through family hell with my son.

He went into drug induced psychosis(meth), and had to call 911 and get him in rehab. I was in tears telling the dispatcher I didn't want them to shoot him. And I felt like a horrible mother. Took me this long to tell anyone outside the family.

So I posted early not knowing if I would get a chance to again. Sorry to unload here! LOL Peace~~~D

I'm really sorry you are going through this. I have a family member who's been through similar stuff (not drug-related, but the other pieces). It's so hard. You are not a bad mom for trying to do the right things to help your son.

Oh my gosh, that sounds pretty rough! For what it's worth, that makes me feel a lot better about the crazy week I've had. Have things calmed down at all? That is a lot to deal with. :(

I’m doing good. Working at home today, as I had a bone density scan this afternoon (which took like 5 minutes, lol).

I updated my work resume yesterday, since my supervisor is going to try to get me reclassed to the next position above mine (one pay grade higher), from an Administrative Specialist 1 to a 2. We shall see if it pans out or not, fingers crossed.

I'm busier than a corpse grinder in Hell. But it's all good. And it's raining/snowing and that's FANTASTIC!!!

Super busy with tutoring The Criminal. He is such an energy drain, but at least he is getting work done. I keep reminding myself....all he has to do is pass....just pass...

I'd be doing a lot better if the two computers operating my inventory and cash register system hadn't frozen and glitched yesterday, requiring me to bring both of them to my computer guru. I'm crossing my fingers, toes, and everything else possible that he can dig down to where the problem is and get it resolved. It's really no fun to hand-write inventory, and I can't do much of anything else re the business until I have functional computers once again.

Re Gary's potential employee comment: I stopped in at Discount Regional Competitor That's Decimated My Employer's Business after my dr's appt earlier this morning. Settled in the cafe. I watched who I presume was either their HR person or the store mgr with a stack of applications calling people continuously. He either left messages or was told there was no longer any interest. His tone gradually changed as he went through the pile. It's a HUGE store and they've been sending employees from other stores to shore up everything because they're nowhere near hiring enough people. Question is, what happens when those employees return to their own stores?

Ouch! I'm going through similar things at work, with people leaving while work piles up. I hope things turn around for you!

That's mostly how I'm doing, though -- stressed about work. Coordinating things is like... I'd say "herding cats" except that implies you can see the cats. In this case it's more like standing in a room with a bunch of cats, but some are hiding under the bed, a few are trying to use the same litter box at once, one is climbing the curtains, one demands attention constantly, and you're pretty sure one slipped out the door when you weren't looking. Most of them are technically where you want them, but it's mild chaos. And you have to get everything cleaned up and ready for visitors really soon. And all of this is being watched by the people who pay the bills. It's all worth it, because everything you're doing is in support of a cause you really believe in, but sometimes you just want to go lie down and let someone else deal with it.

Work has been heating up for me, too. And dealing with family issues. And trying to keep everything from flying apart. It's been great!

Sorry you have to deal with people like that. That is so rude to not contact you that they had changed their mind, accepted another offer, the moon and stars aligned for their rapture, etc.

hopefully some people who actually want to work come your way.
