At the risk of defusing potential drama (and having fewer comments) - that's definitely a risk.

I've been asked "Can I do this?" before and my response has always been the same: "It's your LJ. It's your entry. But keep in mind that people may have already read it and that folks don't tend to like it when you change things after the deadline".
