Green Room - Week 19 - Day 5

Good morning Idol!

I had a terrific birthday, thanks for all of the messages that I received! (and those who took advantage of the "subtle use of links", definitely thank you! :D)

We do have a matter of a finale to handle though: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/699150.html So it's no rest until tomorrow night! There was a question asked, and answered over there though that I think a lot of people might be interested in. I know that I was intrigued by my own answer!

We are going to see how this season is going to end: Will it be Breaking Bad or the Sopranos???

How was YOUR version of my birthday weekend? I know it couldn't have been *as* fun... but hopefully it was still decent.

Despite random sneezing attacks coupled with just sort of falling asleep in the middle of the day a few times, I had a pretty good weekend! On Saturday my sweetie and I did some gaming, and that was pretty awesome. It's fun to be someone else for a while - immersive escapism is the best. Yesterday I made fancy spaghetti sauce, and we did some chores together and then goofed off by playing Tales of Xillia. It was a nice, low-key couple of days.

What made the spaghetti sauce fancy? Or did you just fancy making spaghetti sauce?

Hungry tummies want to know!

(Also - gesundheit... just in case)

It's a six-hour sauce that mostly comes out of stuff we keep on the shelves in the house, but ends up tasting aMAZing. The nice thing is that it doesn't need much - you do a little work in the morning/early afternoon, and then stir it once every half hour, add some stuff near the end, and tada! Yum. It can also be made more fancy by using fresh ingredients when they're in season and you've got a bunch of them. It makes a really big batch - it served three people last night, and will provide leftovers for two more nights at least. It also works great in lasagna. :)

*sniffle* And thank you. The random sneezies are still happening, though a little less frequently!

Mmm... I've never made homemade spaghetti sauce; best I do is to add a bit of whatnot (fresh garlic, etc) to the jarred variety, LOL. But it sounds delicious!

(Here's some tissues, just in case)

In a way, this hardly counts as homemade, because it's just jars and bottles and cans of other stuff for the most part, but it comes out deeeeelicious. I've never had any complaints. :)

*aaaaachoo* Tank oo. I hab a code, it seems.

Oh, can I have the recipe of the fancy sauce? I have been hit or miss trying to find a good sauce I can make!

Absolutely! Shall I send it to you in an LJ message or do you prefer emails? :)

Woohoo! LJ message is fine.

Allergies have kicked in hard this week at our house. Nicky (4) has them really bad.

I miss gaming.
I have no room here.
Seriously - I use the same space for my computer desk, sewing station, jewelry craft, and any other work I have to do.
When my disability comes in (hopefully) and I get a unique fixerupper then I will have space and maybe be able to have a game group.
Also a real studio.
