Even the "let's share everything" generation cares about privacy1. It's a huge, huge topic (even ignoring things like the government for the moment), and I don't expect it's apt to go away. I don't think, for instance, you're ever going to require an "Internet Driver's License" to sign onto your ISP. But online shopping, or maybe filing your taxes, might require some degree of verification.
Of course, separating your "official" self and "private" self already takes some doing today. I have enough problems just playing LJ Idol as an Alt of my regular account. We're entering "interesting times."
