It’s a new day, and a new twist… in order to get into the finale, you will have to push a busload of orphans off a climb into a pool of endangered sharks. Then you will have to tell your favorite relative to post a video of themselves doing something embarassing on youtube and help it go viral, and make them read the comments section!!


Or maybe you will just have to survive some polls, I really haven’t decided.. but it will be one of those things!

I'm coming to all of this as someone who read her friend's idol pieces and voted every once in a while in the earlier seasons, and then impulsively jumped into Second Chance in S8, so all the various twists and turns and death matches and everything are pretty surprising. I never really followed along before I was participating, you know? Most of the twists I saw in the main season were more endurance (write six things this week! Now write 17! Whoa...) kind of brutal than this kind of brutal. I do think if there had been more twists all along it would have had us all better braced. Not that I'm asking for more twists. The very idea makes me cringe a bit.

There used to be a ton more than just the write-X-number-of-things. A lot of them haven't been used in awhile, like this particular one. For all I know maybe Gary's saving them for s9. Actually, I wouldn't put it past him, to be honest, because...well, this is Gary we're talking about ;)

Like I said to x_disturbed, I think maybe everyone wouldn't have been caught so unawares if there had been more twists throughout the exhibit, perhaps? To have something not happen for a very long time then go BOOM tends to shake people up in more than one way.
