It feels like I've been in "advice mode" quite a bit lately, both in "real life" and online. What is the best advice that you regret *not* taking! ;)

People don't usually give me advice. I wish someone had advised me to kick the ex-best friend to the curb, but no one did. If they had, I probably wouldn't have taken it, so we can pretend and say that was the best advice I didn't take.

I've been exactly there. Someone did try to tell me, or at least hint, that I should leave that relationship like a bat out of hell, but I was too wrapped up in it. I found an old diary entry where I said I didn't trust her and ought to get the fuck out… and promptly did exactly the opposite of that. We were "friends" for another two years.

Yeah - I tried to warn the people that came after me, but they wouldn't listen and didn't believe me and joined in his smear campaign and attempt to drum up drama around me. I wonder if they've learned yet?

Admittedly, I've been that person, too - the one who doesn't believe the warnings and bullies the "ex." It was not exactly my proudest moment. I think the "new best friend(s)" after me went a-huntin' for drama, too, because even like a year after we stopped talking they showed up in my "Recent Visitors." /sigh I'm not even that mad, because I understand why they do it.

Oh wow, really? Why do they do it? I don't get it. And yeah - it's been two years since I talked to my ex-friend, and the girl who replaced me is still stalking my blogs, and so I imagine he is too.
