Green Room Part 2 - Week 0

Good afternoon.

I was going to post earlier today, but I wanted a chance to catch up with most of the entries first.

Wow, there is some talent out there. This season is going to be tough!

Not to mention HUGE!! Has all of LJ signed up for this season yet?*g* Or are the rest waiting until Friday.

Don't forget to post your Topic 0 posts at: http://community.livejournal.com/therealljidol/69885.html

and most important, remember to go there to READ other people's posts. Like I said, there are some really great ones. Some have been mentioned by other people, and a lot of them haven't yet (there are some REAL surprises for me for people that I already have my eye on who *haven't* gotten more attention...)

and sign up to play this season:

If you have any questions, be sure to check out the FAQ: http://community.livejournal.com/therealljidol/67483.html

I'm asking "veterans" to step up and help some of the "newbies" figure things out. The smoother the process is now, the more fun it will be once we officially get started!

Have a great day!

Re: I can understand why someone w/ a friends-only LJ would want to participate.

I actually had a very real stalker, and while the person didn't find me through LJ, I was tracked down here and very much harassed. I went friends only for a bit back then, too. Actually I locked up and moved my blog straight off of LJ for a bit and hosted it on a newly purchased domain with members only access. (Come to think of it, I don't really what brought me out of that.)

Anyway the ability to filter who can and cannot read your posts has been a very important thing on LJ since pretty much the inception of it. Everyone has his/her reason for how they want their own life to be shared, how much it should be shared, how much can, with whom and when. I know from my own experience, I've locked posts not so much because of what I wrote but sometimes people get really fired up in comments and it gets a bit ugly or just plain spammy!
