I go to the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis. I am working on my masters degree. When I am done I will have a license to teach grades 5 through 12 Social Studies and grades K-6 with a 5-8 Social Studies endorsement.

Oh, well that's pretty cool! I was a middle school English teacher for a year- it's an extremely rewarding age group.

Cool. I am thinking middle school but wanted to get an additional license to make myself a little more marketable. Social studies teachers aren't in high demand right now in Minnesota.

I was STAUNCHLY set on High School, but I found that my middle school kids were heaps better to work with.

Teachers are in very high demand anywhere in Connecticut. If relocating isn't a problem, check out www.ctreap.com and see the job scene. They're ALWAYS looking.

Thank you for the information. I have lived in Minnesota my whole life so I am open to relocating.

I moved down to Iowa for a year to teach, and it was an amazing experience. I've gotta tell you, I would have stayed if I'd had some family and old friends there- there's a lot in that area that I don't think they know they had.
