Green Room - Week 11 - Day 5

I’m sure that if I tried, I could come up with something clever take on the “news of the day” or just mock the lot of you. But today is a little different for me, because really only one thing is on my mind.

Today is my second anniversary with my girlfriend. Since I can’t seem to wipe the smile off my face, I figured “Why bother trying?”

At the end of what turned out to be our first date, I walked her to her car and she gave me a hug. I remember that hug, and just how amazing it felt. I remember *thinking* how amazing it felt. What I didn’t find out until several weeks later, was that I had actually muttered “Oh my god” OUT LOUD!

Once I found out, her nervous laugh and “You’re so cute” made a lot more sense with the context! : )

What have *you* forgot to use your “inside the head” voice on, and accidentally let out into the universe? What was the reaction?

SO and I knew each other only online for a couple of years before we actually met in person. We weren't especially close, but when he announced in the forum that he was moving back to this area and didn't have time to fly back here to find a place to live, I took it upon myself to find him a place. I was the only one on the forum living in this area, and I figured it was nothing for me to do a favor for an as-yet-unseen friend.

I finally found him a place at the other end of my town, emailed him the pertinent information, we exchanged phone numbers, the whole bit. We kept in touch while he drove back up here. When he called to tell me that he expected to be pulling into the new place at such-and-such a time on such-and-such a date, I figured I'd meet him there because he had nobody to help him unpack.

That was at 8AM. I didn't leave there until after midnight that night, and I had to be at work 3 hours later. And we hardly got anything unpacked because we just kept talking and talking and talking without nary food nor drink!

The Girlz (aka Missy and Ember) didn't know what to make of me either. For the longest time both of them were like, "Who IS this strange female talking to OUR DAD?!?" The day I realized I'd won over both of them was the day I tried to take them for a walk together and nearly got myself killed in the process. When they realized what was happening, they literally "rescued" me :)
